Free Album download on Tunechecker?

  • Strangely enough it will let you proceed if you click on "remove voucher" and then it will put up the full price an then asks for your credit card details. Why can it handle the traffic if you pay but not for the freebies?

I've got as far as the zero balance and then checkout, but then all I get is a blank page.

If I ever do get to down load this album it'll be the one and only album I get off them :(
Moving onto a better place...Ciao
  • If you try to buy 2 albums it will also let you proceed to checkout and then you can use the "tune" code and it will remove the price from 1 of them. This is clearly a con .Shame on MSE for recommending it.
If it had said that you get a free download with each purchase that would have been fine, but to get people to register and then not accept the order because no money is gained is clearly dishonest.
MSE should check out these "offers" before passing them on to the public.
The time wasted on trying to get on unobtainable freebie far outweighed any money saved.
  • P.S
As a real money saving expert of many decades experience, I volunteer my services to check out any future "bargains" before they passed on to the public.

    I don't understand...
The offer is for a free album, and you can enter the code and get the album free.
If you select one album from the list and enter the code, then you get it free.
If you select two albums and enter the code, then you get one of them free.
I think that is consistent, isn't it?
    And certainly not dishonest.
The fact that the web site can't handle the traffic is an operational issue, but as far as I can tell there is absolutely no dishonesty involved.
In the end, it's a freebie, and if you don't like it then just walk away.
If your time is worth more than £5 then don't be a cheapskate trying to get the freebie.
  • Hurrah! Success at last. I have finally managed to download the Spiritualized album. Cheers Tune Tribe.

Maybe I should set an alarm for 2AM ;-) Or maybe get a life!
I wouldn't bother, I tried yesterday at 4.45 am and again just now (not to mention numerous daytime attempts) and I'm getting the proxy error when I try to load the screen of albums included in the offer.

I can't stop trying even though I am now starting to irritate myself with my persistence! I hope it pays off but I am now beginning to lose hope. :(

When the problems started they should have taken emails or messages from the first 10,000/15,000 customers and given them all a code to use, say, in the next 30 days. I certainly won't bother using the site again.

    Right:

If you didn't get an activation e-mail (I didn't after 12 hours) go to login and then try to login. It will say about activation, click re-send.

I've now managed to buy the Springsteen album I wanted, complete with the code: TUNE after about 45 hours of trying! However, when I go to download, I get the dreaded error! At least it's safety brought now and in my purchase history thing! :)

Good luck everyone else, I'll probably download next week when things die down a bit. To echo Saetanas words, I certainly will not be using them again either.

EDIT, refreshing the page it's finally started to download - all 172 MB of it! Hopefully it doesn't freeze before the end!!

It downloaded OK, and quickly :O :D
