Hi, we are collecting as much info and research, as we are taking carphone warehouse to court.
If you have recently been told your phone is not repairable due to liquid ingress you should have been given a photo of the said damage.
We would like you all to send these photos to us, particually if you had a nokia n95 8gb.
We want to inspect as many photos as possible to look for identical ones..............!
The more evidence we can gather, the better. Google "carphone warehouse compLaints" select a site called "mr daz" and read our story.
Many thanks to you all, maybe, just maybe these people who sell the phones will start taking third party responsibility to repair them fairly .

This recently happened to me, but with my Nokia 5800.
Sent my phone away to be repaired. Sent back to me B.E.R - Beyond Economical Repair. They said there was significant liquid damage.
Took said phone home with me, plugged in the charger after reading up on similar situations on the internet and the handset switched on for the first time in 5 weeks.
I shall post a picture later on today
They need to be stopped!

F A O SOOLIN with regard to your post/reply ?
before you jump to any conclusions !!!!!
i have never posted on the internet ever before, i,m a 45 year woman who is not very technical at all....... it took me ages to work out how to post here.
my husband is a serving soldier and i have a disabled son to look after so i really havent the time to use the internet.
i stumbled across the mr daz site when i googled "carphone warehouse complaints", i decided to research this site aswell , for the very first time. AS YOU MAY NOTE, I,M A NEW USER !
the person who has answered my post dazz7400 is totally unknown to me ok. i decided to use this site because we are being duped by a large company and wanted to know if anyone out there had, had the same problem.
I DIDNT COME ON HERE TO BE ACCUSED OF BEING SOMEWHAT DISHONEST ?
IF YOU HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY POST, WHY DIDNT YOU TAKE THE TIME TO EMAIL ME AND ASK ME OUT RIGHT ?
OR ARE YOU INFACT AN EMPLOYEE OF SAID COMPANY ??????????/////0 -

But yet you have time to rifle through photos of handsets to check if it's the same picture as yours and launch a court case against CPW?
Also, in the response to your complaint to CPW here, where does it state that the damage was caused my your husbands sweaty ears? It doesn't. It doesn't even mention sweat!0 -
Hi Soolin,Gosh what a co incidence the web site we are supposed to use is called mr daz and the first response is from a user called dazz7400
It is just pure coincidence I'm sure as Mr Daz has been going for years and if you read anything about him you will realise the last thing he would do is spam a site such as this.
Yes he does have issues with CPW and even I've quoted from his site before now and posted a link such as this one .....

Hmm one of the items
http://www.mrdaz.com/carphone-warehouse-manager-tells-woman-sweaty-ears-caused-fault-in-phone/
on that site is about someone being told (allegedly) by cpw that someones ear's caused damage and yet the response from cpw (printed on the site) makes no mention to "ears". And goes on to say talk to manufacturer if you want second opinion. So I don't quite see the point of blogging about how bad cpw is without having genuine proof to back it up. And even then why waste your time worrying about one company....don't like a company, dont use it!0 -
this is addressed to the previous comments left on this site:
details left about what was said, or wasn,t said in emails back and forth from CPW were the automated reponse we recieved then.
the said company are being very careful about what they say, numerous letters, phone calls, emails etc etc have gone back and forth since then .
we have prove that my husband was told by a employee of the CPW that sweat from his ears could have caused the phone to stop working...........
we have no reason to lie !
the reason we are persisting with the case is because its a matter of princible, .
and yes, COLLIEFROG, i make time to sort this out, ( notice time of my first post ) before i gave up my career to look after my disabled son, i worked in sales for a very big worldwide company, and during that time i dealt with lots of genuine complaints and alot of not so genuine complaints.!
i cant give to many details away because of my husbands job, but he has worked with electonics and communications for over 20 years, is extremely careful with any type of sensitive electronic equipment. (has even told me of at times) may i add.
we didnt go into this lightly, we did alot of research, and found that quite a few people have gone to court over the same problem.
ISN,T IT WHAT THIS SITE IS ABOUT ANYWAY, CONSUMER RIGHTS !
why do people feel they have to judge us for doing what we think is right!0 -
OP - Have you sent your phone to another authorised repair agent for a second opinion?0
-
I have just requested complete photos of the entire PCB, the provision of any other evidence of liquid in the phone and the repair centers professional opinion on the path the liquid took to enter the phone and get to the failed component.0

Right...Lets clear one thing up here.
I am dazz7400.
I have no relation to that mrdaz website, what so ever.
I did come across this mrdaz website, when i received my "damaged" phone back from CPW. I was looking for advice on what step to take from there, whether i could get a replacement phone or not, without an insurance policy been taking out.
I found numerous posts online, where people with the same problem as i had, received there "liquid damaged" phone back from a repair specialist, simply plugged there charger into the phone and amazingly, the phone started up.
I rushed to get my charger, plugged it in, the phone powered on first time. I was speechless. How could they send a phone back to me saying it was unrepairable, with pictures of water damage for proof..and the phone switches on perfectly well.
The funny thing is, CPW offered me 10% off the price of taking out a contract with them. Were they trying to cheat me? I'm already tied into a contract with orange, directly, so i refused there offer. The only reason i took the phone to CPW is because that's the only Nokia Repair Centre in my area.
Here are some images below of the documents i received back with my phone..
EDIT
I'M NOT ALLOWED TO POST LINKS BECAUSE I AM A "NEW" MEMBER..
