Evening guys, new to this forum but not to MSE and the regular emails etc.
I have been looking at all the reclaiming musics bank accounts etc and thinking I actually was a few times mid sold some for a number of things such as holiday insurance etc. I believe Lloyd’s where one culprit and and another was Barclays.
I wanted to ask, if there is anyway possible I can back track to find out what my accounts consisted of and when as I don’t have any details from them. There must be a way to search my own history of accounts right? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks in advance

How was the holiday insurance mis-sold?0 -
Sorry spelling error thanks to my phone there. Mis sold was what it was meant to say. The holiday insurance cover thing is just an example, I remember paying for a ‘premier to type account with apparent benefits but at the time felt like I had no choice. This may actually have been 2 banks do it to me. Anyone know if there is anyway of finding out account history to show what accounts I actually had with which banks?0

Your credit files will show the last 6 years of any who reported to the CRAs.0

If you are making an allegation of misselling a packaged bank account (which this thread is not about), then you need to do within 6 years of taking out the account and 3 years from being reasonably aware of an issue. Account closure is usually considered satisfactory for triggering the 3-year clock starting. i.e. you need to complain within 3 years of closing that account.0 -
Hi,
Not sure if this is the correct place to report a success story.- Bank name: Halifax
- Amount Reclaimed: N/A
- Amount they paid: £850
I used the advice provided here and the Resolver form.
I received a call from Halifax (my bank) who spent 15 mins talking about why I thought I had been mis-sold. A few weeks later I saw my bank account had been credited with a random payee number of approx £850. I called Halifax and they confirmed they had approved my complaint and paid out. They then gave me notice that they would downgrade the packaged bank account to a regular one.
Just wanted to say thanks for the advice on this forum, have been a long long time reader but wanted to say thanks!0 -

Hi all
Last night I spent some time looking through the last 6 year's statements and was shocked to total up the amount I have paid in charges. Not one month has passed when I haven't paid in excess of £25 interest for usage of my £2,000 student overdraft (now current account) plus £6 arranged overdraft fees and £6-£12 unarranged fees. I'm total it's in excess of £6,000. This is really disheartening given that my overdraft is only £2,000. Morally I find this wrong!!
I spoke to the bank who advised this was part of their terms and conditions and offered no financial advice to help me out of my struggles. My situation is I am continually I'm my overdraft every month and have recently been advised the interest rates are doubling with effect from April. How can I get myself out of this? I found the bank very unhelpful.
I also have unpaid fees also but where would I stand in terms of requesting refunds?
Any advice would be welcomed

The DFW board is the place to go, for help on cutting costs and repaying the debt faster.0

You can write to them and tell them you're in current finacnial hardship and can they help. This is no good though if you have Sky subscriptions or expensive mobile phone accounts or HP. If you are struggling to afford the most basic things then they may help.Note that they do not have to so don't write your letter accusing them of anything, just say you need help.Morally you might find it wrong but if you hadnt been in your overdraft to start with, you wouldn't be in this predicament now. And it doesn''t matter how you got there, you got there. And as above, go the debt free board for help budgeting.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
