  • Thanks for the pic!

They ARE pretty.....but.....dare I say (as something of a vintage fan, and now an even bigger fan of Make Do and Mend) that other than the label, IMHO the "specialness" is in the flower....and you could create the same effect yourself with a vintage brooch of some sort clipped onto some plainer shoes......perhaps?

Not the same I know, but if you allow yourself this one fairly big ticket item quite early on in your DF plan, will it de-rail you?

I leave that thought with you.....

This is true, and thanks for the info. I think it is more about the getting something back that was part of me, that I sold without wanting to. The shoes are from 2oo4 and were very special. I know the amount is putting me off, although I do have another pair of Jimmys unworn that I can sell and two would net each other off.

I still need to think about it though.

Decided that next month will purchase some new twine to make my necklaces. Have been meaning to do this for a while, as well as the ikebana (strange japanese flower arrangements). Have some lovely labradorite pendants that I can team with some freshwater pearls. I love it when people ask where i got my jewellery, and I can say that I have made it myself.

The most compliments i receive are for a glass and shell bead necklace that I often wear for work. Although I didn't make this myself, it was a broken belt in Rackhams. I negotiated a £2 sale price at the till, move the broken bits and the shorter item was a perfect necklace. Bargain!

Can't wait to start wearing all my vintage stuff when I've shed these extra pounds. Going to get up bright and early on saturday and go for a run. I've got a lovely Dior dress from the 1950s (£5 ebay last year), and a lovely fushia pink silk tafeta couture Kenzo jacket (£10 also from ebay last year), now got to work on the skinny pins for the skinny jeans, and I'll be away. Wahoo!

Thanks Shoegal. I wish I could post links for the other things I have. Call me obsessed but I have pictures saved in paint of all my clothes and shoes and I copy and past into another sheet to match them up. Shoesies will go with my lovely marc jacobs dress, that I wore to Paris the first time. Its so pretty. :)

I wish I'd had the income to buy it all cash and not get in this mess. Oh well. That's why I'm working hard to get myself a good job I guess. Maybe I could do one of those adverts looking all sad 'for just 10 grand a year, you can keep this office worker in fab togs, please give just 10 grand a year, and make a girls Christmas' :)

Ooh eck! I have to feed my 'paper' into our team meeting tomorrow. A bit nervous as I think people will have judged me to have written a load of waffly psycho babble. I don't like to think I'm being judged so v hard. :(

I'm sure it will go down ok, and those that are not harsh are my true friends I guess x
