  • Ok. Going to quit being negative now, because that won't change anything. Everything is what it is, so just head down and for the long haul, just got to get on with it.I'm pretty much over my shopping addiction, and just made myself feel a whole lot more positive by registering on my next OU course for this coming november. I couldn't wait till next May to be honest. While I'm studying it keeps me positive about getting on with my career and life and that has to be good.Think I only start to get down when I don't think I am doing anything constructive towards getting out of my situation and living the life I want to. So studying is a positive change for the better. I'll find the money somehow. Better get applying for those better paying jobs now then. How sad am I? I'm probably going to spend my 30th tapping out an assignment.Still no joy with Paypal. If the worst comes to the worst then I'll email the person and ask if they are able to send a cheque. If not, all I can do is ask them to be patient while Paypal sorts itself out, or apologise and lose the money on the shoes. It's completely out of my hands so no point fretting about it really. Still no news from the lady about the top that's too small. I guess in the end I'll just be lumbered with it.:)

  • Paypal now hopefully sorted now, but I won't get those two deposits that they do to finish the verification, before my auction ends. There goes my good feedback record. Good luck with yours Mrs R. x

Glad I registered in my course PG cert Social Sciences Research methods, which should hopefully bag me a research analyst position next november in the civil service. Fingers crossed.

  • Good morning!

1 more day to go until paypay, thank goodness. Finally tomorrow I'll be able to change my signature and change some of those totals above into pink ones. Yay! Then I'll feel like I'm properly underway on my journey.

:) Have a great day everyone

  • Just received a cheque back from Conde Nast for my subscription refund. That cheque will pay my mobile phone bill this month. Yay! Also means that I got two issues of vogue and a full size Molton Brown showergel and body lotion for £3.99. Also cool. :)

  • You're doing briliantly on the freebies - making me envious -used to do them but fallen by the way side - how come now am not working, I seem to have LESS time?? Bizarre!

PS: am research analyst-type myself (amongst other things). well, was, as now not working..funny coincidence, small world. all that....

  • hi thrifty fifty,

just wanted to say that I have just started reading your diary tonight. there are lots of similarities to my own situation (including the SATC addiction!) and I am desperately trying to manage on very little each day and constantly beating myself up about things because I feel so dreadful about getting myself into the situation in the first place.

Good luck with everything, I will keep reading.

btw - I went to Paris last year with my SATC-loving friend. We went on the hunt for a couple of the cafes featured in the last series, found them even though one had changed hands (and colour!). while we were having our coffee there, there was a wedding in the church next door, we felt very in character! :)

we had a great time but a) it was very expensive and b) I'd paid for it on credit so ended up feeling guilty about it all the time and still do. So definitely try and hang on until you can go on your own terms. :j

Cool! What area? If I could have found a course via distance learning I would have done MA Human Geography, but can't seem to find one anywhere. This course I'm advised is quite good for getting ESRC funding later for PHDs and stuff. Hope it pans out.

On the freebies front, the Clarins one was a winner. If you have a counter near you I seriously suggest heading down for freebies.

Have a good day hun.
