:D I'm with you on the sea! I love it. And it terrifies me! It's so vast and powerful and necessary - it kinda takes your breath away! One day I will be "sitting on the dock of the bay watching the tide roll away". It's one of my favourite songs and I always visualise myself sitting by the sea somewhere. Just don't know where! :D

As for random panic attacks; I am certain that one day I will have dementia and you will find me on a bridge screaming the place down. I always have this absurd fear that I will end up being blown off bridges and into the vast waters below. Whilst I am (generally) in contol of my senses, it'll be fine. As soon as that fades, there you'll find me, screaming like a bnashee! :D Just so you're warned...

I'm much better with fish than I used to be! I wasn't too bad with the biright, tropical ones (If I squinted a bit I could pretend they were friends of Nemo :rotfl:). Cookery books are the worst for random photograpghs of fish that make my toes curl up and shudder.

My head is so very sore today. I know it is the sunshine but I have been drinking water all day and it's not shifting. Time to find the paracetemol methinks!

Eventually, RBS sitting at £2,973.81. £973.82 to go and it'll be under 2k ;).

And today had been NSD 3 - and I intend it stay that way!

I have realised my budgeting has been a bit skew-whiff this month... because I've already paid extra into RBs I [STRIKE]might[/STRIKE] probably have left myself short for the festival at the end of the month as it is the weekend before not after pay day as I had thought! D'oh!

Which just means I will need to be creative! I have £17 pounds in paypal... that'll see me through a festival, right? ;)

Though, as festivals go, it will be cheaper than normal. We will be close enough to my friend's house that we can make up picnics and not have to buy on-site. And I'm a lot less used to hangovers, children and eary mornings than my friend's who are parents so I won't be spending much on alcohol!!!

Found a blog by some-one doing a VSO placement working in the same profession as I do. :) I don't know anything about blogs so, although I think I have managed to successfully sign up to follow, I haven't figured out if there's a way to get in touch other than hijacking the comments page of an existing entry. Anyway, I'll have a read of that and should get a good idea of what's involved both work wise and it terms of personal challenges.

    RBS sitting at £2,848.43.

Another £12.41 heading its way from bills account.

I need to cook dinner. I have been very bad at that in the last few weeks. Went for dinner at a friend's last night so that was ok. And have left over bulgar wheat salad, but it's not really what I want. Though it would be quick and mean I don't have to cook.

Thanks Cheri. I have tried that but there doesn't seem to be a message button. Perhaps it's been set up that way deliberately. I've left a comment saying who I am and why I'm following. It is interesting and terrifying in equal measure! :D

It's unlikely to put me off though! It definitely will help me think about my transferable skills and exactly where my strengths would be. And how to cultivate those bits that will terrify the living daylights out of me! :o

    :hello:

...it's been a while, I know... Short version is all the crud in our department at work finally got the better of me, and I spent 10 weeks signed off with work induced stress and reactive anxiety and depression. All thanks to that one very senior manager, as usual, who really ought to go far - and the sooner they start and the further they go, the better!

Anyway, been doing a short phased return, and back to full time next week. Coping OK so far... Pleased to report my local doctor and the NHS Occ Health nurse were both absolutely brilliant.

On a more pleasant note, I've had my first beans from my garden this week, and the raspberries I bought and planted last year have been going absolutely mental - I've been getting a bowlful every other day for over a month, and that's just the fruit from the old wood! Best investment I've made so far, they're growing like weeds and I reckon I've had about £20 worth of berries already, so they've more than paid for themselves :D

Now just need to work out what to do with all the weeds in my gravel drive - I had dug them all out (by hand!) when it was so dry, but once the rain returned the ruddy thing is going green all over again...

Fab work on the loan, Nicca! Keep going, just think what will start happening at the end of that section of the road... :)

Right, time for a bowl of fresh raspberries, raspberry yoghurt and a couple of broken up meringue nests :D
Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek... ;)

    Hey Jesthar

Sorry you've been off and glad you're phasing back in. You've seen my rants, so you know I've been there if you need an ear!

No advice on the weeds I'm afraid. No idea what you do with them, or at least not in an environmentally conscious way! You dug them by hand?!

Mega jealous about the raspberries! Mmmmmmm! Chuck some this way, pretty please? With raspberries on top! :D

I hope work bcomes more bearable for you. Take care :)

Ooops. My finger slipped whilst on £bay. White jeans? I've gone all KAte Middleton! Maybe some-one will bid higher (I secretly hope not).

I think I accidentally threw out what few organisational skills I had when I decluttered the other week. My NSDs have been thwarted by lack of lunch preparation and I've bought something the last three days in a row. Yet never quite made it to the post office to post all the pressies and cards I needed to. Or at least, not in enough time for people to get them on their actual birthdays/weddings.

Ah well, they'll just need to trust it's the thought that counts! ;) Off to cover shifts in second job... money, money, money... :)

    Have a fun weekend every-one.
