Morning! I need a cuppa. it's chucking it down here; lovely day for a BBQ. I wonder what the weather is doing two hours South West by the coast!!!! Indoor barby???
I think the problem with wee man's broken leg is more going to be his ADHD and compulsiveness. And already being a 6 year old boy! And his brother being in a wheelchair. It's only in a temporary cast at the moment so we will know more on Monday or Tuesday when he gets his full one! There's only the 4 of us going so it could well be see as utter madness!
I can't see today being an NSD. Car is topped up with deisel but I need to get a card at least, if not a pressie at the moment, for friend's folks. I probably also need to eat lots before I get there. My friend is the type of meat eater who eats her meat almost raw. _pale_ I doubt, even though she bought veggie sausages, I will want to eat them! (When I asked about the BBQ and logistics of cooking veggie food, she asked me if I could bring my own disposable one. I've had this rant already...)Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Sorry us meat eaters aren't very good, or considerate, when cooking for our non meat eating friends
I don't do bad but hadn't even thought about sharing the barbie grill. I know it is not quite the same but can your sausages be cooked on the grill inside? COuld you make a card????
The precipitation has reached this far down too so I think it is going to be a sofa day. And after the week I have had it is very welcome - 2 people off out of a team of 4 is not recommended and I am cream crackeredI do wonder why I am doing 10 hour days with out a break when they are finishing me in September
Probably going to be up your way at the end of August so will have to see if we can catch up for a cuppa:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

Maybe they have taken 'finishing you' literally. What are you doing Maty once they have finished you?

Fingers firmly crossed, I may have something lined up as I got approached by a customer
We have had one chat and I have to go back to them with a proposal that I should be working on instead of messing about on here
Not sure they will pay me what I want though...
If that fails, I may take a month off and then start job hunting in earnest. I do have the luxury of a very nice pay off but would rather use it for other means.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Based on my experience Maty I would recommend trying to sort something out and then having your month off. It's nice to have something sorted particularly in this climate.
See you soon

Maty I hope The Apprentice final has inspired you to finish your proposal! (And that you get it done more quickly than I am getting this essay done!)
Had a lovely time away, but now shattered. A good hour of the drive is coastal; I so should be living by water!
Maty, I hope I'm not doggy sitting two hours away when you are up! But let me know when, as even if we can't meet in Glasgow, we could maybe meet somewhere around the border.

Knock, knock.............. anybody home?
I live quite close to the coast and I am very lucky indeed. I recently did a blog post and took a photo of the view as I drive into the town (I was a passenger not the driver) and it never ceases to take my breath away. There is one particular drive I do along the coast road and I always think about all those times I paid to go abroad for that exact same view and now I live with it. So inspiring. Still my move to Austria will mean that I am miles away from the sea but I have fabulous mountain views instead. Was it really a week ago I was last here? Who is eating up all the time?
I have been doing lots of walking training - although the furtherst we've walked together is just over 7 miles. And now my walking partner is on holiday and by the time she's back, I will be doggy-sitting for my folks... so we are trying to find some-where in the middle to meet up. However, little pup doesn't like travelling by car and I'm not overly enthused about driving with doglets in my car as it's only little.
And anyway, by then we'll be doing around 18 miles, which is too much for big doglet and I would feel bad driving for an hour and walking for several and leaving him all by himself... so I need my lateral thinking cap on for that (similar to my brilliance hat but in blues).
I have been fruit picking with one set of friends and her kiddies. She asked me to watch them on the trampolines while she nipped off to get us a cuppa... any-one hazard a guess where I was when she came back? :rotfl:
And I have been festivaling (that may be a Nicca neologism... I'm not sure festivaling is a real word. And it might look better with two l's...)
The weather was glorius! We didn't camp as wee broken legged child has a stookie (is that a universal or a Scottish term?) from thigh to foot and will not be allowed to weight-bare for the next 8 weeks. So wee sibling was shipped out to Gran and wee broken child has been driving mummy insane at home.
So I was heading over to the festival on my own on Friday but felt I couldn't just turn up at my friend's and disappear. So Gran appeared with wee sibling, we had dinner and Gran realised I was heading to festival on my own so offered to watch kidlets. Luckily wee broken child had just that day learned to get to and from the bathroom as Gran is not able to lift kidlets and mummy would not have been given freedom if wee broken child had been unable to do this.
We got there for the headliners on the Friday and we spent the day there minus kidlets on the Saturday. However, we were taking turns driving (nver done that at a festival before!) so we didn't really get to have a birthday drink (freedom mummy's birthday, not mine) together, but we did at least still get to go.
It's a pity kidlets couldn't be with us as the weather was lovely and it's a very child friendly festival. But there's always next year...
The festival was Friday and Saturday but I'm just back today as I stayed over to give Gran a break. I'd say to give mummy a break too, but I'm not sure she got any much more sleep, which is what she really wanted for her birthday!
Upshot this month is that there is no longer enough days left in the month to catch all my NSDs so I need to make up for that in August!
In saying that I am also having a dilemma about a very good offer at salon that does my waxing! Excellent offer though it may be, it is not MSE and will increase my debt if I go for it.
Essentially it is a years worth of 4-weekly IPL laser hair removal treatment and you can get whatever you want done in that time... She gave me a free trial and it has made a big difference in just 4 weeks (It works very well if, like me, you are very pale with very dark hair!). Given the amount I spend on waxing and given how sensitive my skin is to shaving/bleaching and almost every other hair removal thingy under the sun, it does make sense. It is also the only thing I have ever said I would be willing to pay for. And it's just over 65% off the normal cost.
But it's still a lot of money for what is essentially a beauty treatment. And half the time I think "go for it" because it is something I want to do. And half the time I think "don't be ridiculous!" (Half the time I think this because the numbskulls in my head are humming "Your so vain" and the other half of the time because it just doesn't sit well with paying of my debt and aiming to VSO in 18 months.)
So I've still not come to a decision. I did ask her to calcualte the price for a smaller amount of areas that I could get done first. It was half the price of the offer but isn't even close to half the areas I could get done with the offer.
I have to the end of this month to think about it and she said she'd extend the offer for a week in August if I wanted (I'm assuming this isn't just for me and she's doing that anyway).
I think this might need to be one of those spider diagram decisions my friend talks about! (I feel very shallow even thinking about spider diagrams for a beauty treatement given the events in the news this week.)
Maty... good luck for tomorrow! Given you're likely reading this after the event, I hope it went well!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

A smile is the light in the window of your face that tells people you're at home. ~Author Unknown
Just because it was time for another quotation. And because of the drunken man at the festival who proclaimed to us to "let your face smile if it wants to" and then asked the passing policman to arrest us because we weren't letting our faces smile enough! :rotfl:

Reading it before
Tummy doing summersaults
I know it isn't MSE in the short term but it will be in the long term - Count up 10 years of waxing without inflation, how do the costs compare? A girl at work has your colouring and is part way through treatment and thinks it is the best thing ever.
Stookie is a Scottish word but I know what you meant
Weekend sounded good, glad you both got to go :T:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0
