Hi Nic, was hoping to e-mail you later anyway but saw your post & didn't want to wait in case DS stays awake too late for me to write.
Big hugs to you honey, your Mum is right, things are replaceable, people aren't! I know you feel bad and it was a nasty shock for you but with icy roads, accidents will happen no matter how careful a driver you are. Sounds as though you handled the situation with your usual care & consideration and remained level headed as ever despite your own shock. What more could you have possibly done?
Don't beat yourself up about it, like your Mum, I'm relieved that you and they are all okay. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow and not too sore.
Be in touch soon, take care
love & hugs

Oh dear Nicca
But that is why they are called accidents and not meant to happensAs long as no-one was hurt it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, metal can be unbent/replaced/painted, people can't.
As for XFactor, I knew it would be Mary that went this week once I saw who was in the bottom 2. Although I think she has an amazing voice it isn't really a pop chart voice is it? Where as Cher is very marketable and most definitely a chart voice, you can almost see the £££££ signs in Simon's eye's. I was concerned that Matt may have been in the bottom 2 this week as he didn't do so well on Saturday night while fighting off the lurgy.
You have missed a treat with Strictly this year. Anton duBeke's choreography has been brilliant and has turned his and Widdy's dance (?) in to pure performance - many of them have been hysterical and I have watched them and then switched to something else.
Will go and check Psycho's photo's assuming they are on FB.
Take care my lovely, and no more accidents please!!

Anton and Ann have been very funny, poor old Anton having to do something entertaining every week!
I knew it would be Mary, and I think One Direction could win it because of all the teenybopper fans they have. I'd like Matt to win it now but I liked Aiden and Paije.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Awww, Psycho, I would be ecstatic if you were willing to do that! I love it(I liked the others too! You have an artisitc eye; which I knew from some of The Dolls house photos you took for me with my rubbishy, normal camera!) And next time you're in Glasgow, you can sign it and it will be worth a fortune in years to come!
Thanks for all your comments about my crash guys! I am feeling better today. Spoke to the insurance company again and car leasing. Other than getting it to the garage, my part is done. And I'm sure the wee guys' parents will make sure he knows who to call in future.
Glasgow is chaos today. All the Scottish airports are closed. The three motorways in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh are gridlocked and parts of the roads are closed. Many of the roads out of the North side of the city have been closed by the police. All the roads around about me (South of the city) are completely gridlocked.
Took the car into work this morning but abandoned it and walked home the back of 3pm. Never stopped to help push so many cars or speak to so many strangers in my life. And felt like making a banner saying "Abandon your cars. You are going nowhere!". (Saw a token nutter women (we'd call her a "bam" here) getting out of her car and screaming blue murder at some poor guy who couldn't have done much since there was no-where for him to go! Turned into a right slanging match! Me and some random guy walking to work, had a wee laugh and chat about it, after checking she wasn't about to drag the poor guy out of his car and "do his ****ing lights" as she "promised"!)
The guy I work with (am a carer for) had to go in for an xray today. They ordered a taxi home and in 2 hours it hadn't turned up so they phoned his BIL to come to get him... it took BIL 3 hours to do what would normally be a 15-20 minute journey. And in that time, the taxi still hadn't arrived.
Have a feeling the sh*t will hit the fan at work when the weather subsides as no senior/exec. management made any decisions and were advising community staff (that's me) to continue to carry out home vists but in 2s. Meanwhile specialist services and high management were (reportedly) sent home! My 2 line managers were livid and apalled. And one of them is very much a by-the-book manager so it's not often she voices that opinion to all her staff! She generally does that quietly and further up the chain of command!
I also missed my doctors appointment. Poor medical secretary! I think the only call she's been taking today is of the "I'm stranded at the other side of the city" type! And the doctors themselves must be sitting in their surgery twiddling their thumbs and taking bets on how many patients will make it in!
Talking of bets... any takers for what time I will make it in to work tomorrow? Seen as I can hardly make it in before 10am when the car is outside my door! And it'll take at least an hour to walk/slide/fall my way in if it really is -6 tonight!
Right... I need to go check my bank account... I've a funny feeling I'm way over my overdraft limit as I can't get to the bank I need to get to to pay in my work cheque!Haven't had a letter about it but then banks are sneaky that way! Or it's slid of the back of a postal van on it's way to me today!

My friend has been trying to get home from school for the last 9 hours and counting.
What chaos! I really hope he has a sleeping bag in his car. The temperature has really dropped and is predicted to coninue to do so.
I guess the powers that be are frantically trying to figure out what to do for the best as they will be held to account and we'll have to waste money we supposedly don't have on an investigation into why Scotland ground to a halt without predicting such a situation might arise and have plans in place just in case!
Mad, crazy world!
Any-one else see the news report about the spoonerism on James Hunt's name. Twice. Very bad word! The one reserved for when you stub your toe! Rhymes with Hunt. Starts with the letter at the beginning of christmas. Ok you might not have expected or wanted to hear it but surely you'd realise it was a mistake! People have complained to the BBC. Do we have no margin of error these days? Are we not allowed to make mistakes?
And there's a whole neuroscience behind spoonersims. We had to do a class on them when I did my professional degree. One of the more fun classes I had to do!
It made me chuckle. I can't belive it was made into such a big deal that the BBC had to issue a formal apology because it was a naughtier mistake than other spoonerisms!
Right, I'm of to bed as I seem to be going on a mini rant!

A spoonerism is basically a slip of the tongue (but you can do it in writing too) where you get in a tangle and usually get your letters muddled up. Named after an Oxford lecturer who did it all the time, saying thing liked "you hissed all my mystery lectures" instead of "you missed all my history lectures".
Work just as chaotic today. Only us diehards that can walk in made it in. Temperatures are still way below freezing and the police are still advising that no-one drive. Traffic hasn't been quite as chaotic as yesterday but there are still abandoned cars everywhere (including on the motorway, apparently!).
I took the long way to work as I stopped to help a mummy with 3 year old twins. One of them was screaming and slipping all over the plcae and she couldn't easily try to keep them both upright, so we took one each and I walked her to a main road. Poor mummy; she'd left the house becasue she had no food in but I think by the time she got to the main road, she was hoping to find a bus or taxi that would stop and just get them all home. I hope some-one did stop for her!
I was hoping for an NSD today, but I've no food (uless I have just rice, or just pasta or just lentils...) so stopped by the shop for beans on toast.
The garage is hoping to come and collect my car tomorrow and give me a courtesy car. I was expecting to wait a lot longer given how chaotic it's been! After yesterday, I know I definitely wasn't the only one slipping into the back of people!
And because of the weather I still haven't received my wearable sleeping bag! Which is a bit of a pain! At temperature highs of -8 and lows of -17, it would have come in handy!!!
I've no signal on my freeview either. We're not sure if the signal is down due to the weather or if the box is now just out-of-date and defunct (that's what happened to the last one). But we've only 5 rubbish channles to choose from... I think I'll have a browse on the web ans see if there's anything interesting I've missed instead.
Or I guess I could study...Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
