Phew, epic reading of diaries... anything to procrastinate! But now up-to-date and feeling guilty enough to do something... tomorrow :rotfl:.
Country House Rescue is on... is it very immature of me to find it very amusing that "The Wally's" are in so much debt. What an unfortunate name to be on that particular show, especially when they're giving away free champagne... and not charging any overheads... I'm definitely no business women, but... *confused smiley*.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

I got two letters from Inland Revenue... I have two jobs so that's fine. And the codes for this year are right, or at least, they're not different from last year's codes... but my main job one does say it's changed from a code I've never seen before (which they think was last year's code) to this new code (which it's always been).
I'm guessing this has something to do with me asking for tax back on my professional subscritions as I've recently written to them asking about it, but there's no mention of my letter and it's all a bit bizarre.
I guess tomorrow's main task will be sitting on hold to Inland Revenue, trying to pretend I know what on earth they are talking about when they do eventually answer the phone.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Feeling extremely grumpy and "meh" today. I know it's bad as I was getting irrational road rage at the usual muppets on the road. Does no-one know what their indicator is for?
I think I'm too tired, too dehydrated, have not exercised enough and am annoyed with myself for procrastinating so much. So I'm going to ban myself from my laptop until I have done something useful (though you should possibly note, useful, to me, at the moment, would be shaking a stick at errant car drivers - I'd do more but then there's an even higher chance of a crash!).
I think my debt-busting concentration has wandered off somewhere and I can't find it. So I need to throw the toys out of the pram and see if I can find it as I pick them all back up again and tidy them away.
Mood not helped by freezing computers and mobiles! I refuse to buy a new mobile! People will just have to assume I'm rude.

Oh niccatw we are all entitled to 'off' days now and again
The difference is if you pick yourself up or not
Now stop complaining and get on with it

Thanks Nelmer!
I came back on to print off my list from a few pages back so I can give myself a shake and work through it!
Luckily I have my stick to prop me up! I'll try not to shake it at any-one for the moment .
No promises though.

Hellooooo,
Your weekend feast sounds scrumptious  & yay for early morning spring cleaning, sometimes you just have to do it when the mood strikes.
I'm sure that your debt busting determinati will return soon, it waxes & wanes for us all at times.
Good luck with the Inland Revenue holding ...0 -
Feeling less grumpy today. I bumped into an old friend in the city centre (not something that happens often in Glasgow, especially given I don't go into the centre that often). It's easily been 5 years or more since I last saw her and she now has an 8 month old daughter. So that put a smile on my face
.
And I went to counselling again and found out a bit more about how I think about things and some ideas about changing that! And am even more determined to learn to use my sewing machine to see if that would be a good stress-busting thing for me. And even if it turns out not to be, I'll have a new skill... or at least hobby. Skill might be a bit grand a word at the moment. Still can't thread the bobbin or get the tension right...
And I sorted out new life assurance, shaving £10 a month off my budget (ok, so they phoned me, and I could maybe look around and get it even cheaper but I find the whole thing so very tedious, I'm glad they did the work for me). I was cynical enough not to tell them what I currently pay though, so they think they only saved me £2 a month! I also found it a bit amusing that the broker's selling point was not just 39 critical illnesses, but 41! Terminal illness and death are also covered! Jumping for joy I was! (But not too high in case I strained a ligament and that put the premium up!)
And I got my free copy of Moneywise magazine through this site... and there happened to be a wee article on door-stop sales, which quoted some legislation that means the kitchen people have to give me my deposit back. Slight tweak needed to the half-written letter...
And I went to the cinema with my £1 ticket to see Alice in 3D. I really enjoyed it and there was something really relaxing about going to the cinema on my own (probably wouldn't try in on a Friday or Sauturday night though!).
I did manage to spend nearly £20 though... Decided to treat myself and go for coffe and cake (and sandwiches) in the bookshop in town, and spent ages, whilst supping coffee and muching on orange and lemon muffin, looking through various sewing books to see which I understood best. If I buy any, I'll get them online through a cashback site so I can at least neutralise the spends. There's also something quite nice about sitting in a coffee shopping pouring over pretty books. If it hadn't been sewing ones, it would have been those massive, coffee table, interior design ones!
I also had to get popcorn at the cinema. This is not something I have any control over whatsoever. It seems to be programmed into my brian. In the same way my arm is automatically programmed to repeatedly lift popcorn to my mouth, regardless of whether or not I am full or fed up of it! Mmmm, popcorn... (see what I mean! No control...) Even though I was horrifed at the cinema price of popcorn!
Hey ho... the rest of the money went on travel into and out of town and some clothes dye for my pregnant friend (to try and get a bra dyed to almost the colour of her bridesmaid dress).
Tomorrow I'm heading home for my Aunt's 50th birthday party... I currently haven't packed and need to be at the hairdressers early (cancelled the cut and dye and opted only for trimming the fringe. Clever me!) and ready to drive home straight after to meet my other Aunt before mum finishes work...
Uh-oh! My time-keeping isn't the best... it's gonna be a rush! I am assuming though, that mum (who has been married to dad for 32 years!) has figured out she is the only one in the family that can get places on time and has therefore adjusted the timescales accordingly.
So you might not hear from me for a few days as I rush all over the lowlands of Scotland.
Better swap money into my bills account before I go... right now in fact!
