You too Nic, sounds a bit scary up there. Hope you have your red slippers ready like Dorothy in case the house takes of to Oz.

I love looking at the sea in bad weather, but that was coming *well* onto the land. Glad you're indoors and safe.

Thanks folks. We didn't get it any-where near as bad in the city centre, but it was still pretty mental! I can't imagine what some of the coastal roads look like today. And I know some of the areas around the city are still getting the weather!

Still, try telling that to your family who have now decided to come up today for a weekend's christmas shopping instead of tomorrow morning - so they miss the ice! My weather warnings were interpreted as me not wanting them to come up for the weekend! And whilst there might be an element of truth in that ;), bleeding 'eck - were they not watching the news???? Just becasue it wasn't windy where mum was! I certainly don't want them stranded here past Sunday! 3 extra people in essentially two rooms.

Gosh I am soooooooo grumpy! Roll on Portugal! Please may there be no winds and snow on 7th January. If I get stranded out there, I will be sure and take an emergency card! Oh, I better get insurance too....

Remind me later. I've nipped home to send off another application form. Though this one is quite a massive stretch beyond what I currently do. I still think long term VSO is probably the better option for me.

I just need to get my head around the sums and just how much money I'd need saved up to see me through a year or two! You get a living wage, but nothing that would allow you to travel while you were over there.

Any-one want to go on million pound drop with me? (I should make you aware that when I play along online I regularly lose all my millions!) ...Any-one want to go on milllion pound drop on behalf of me? My percentage fee for putting the idea into your head is relatively small.... :rotfl:

Million pound drop is literally as it sounds MrsMoo. In pairs you are asked 8 questions; you chose the category and you literally move your million in 25k blocks onto your answers, or split it between them, leaving one clear. If you have any money left by the end of it, you get to take it home :money: When you get it wrong, you watch it drop away from you into the vaults below. Noooooooooooo! It's great playing along online; I've lost virtual millions and millions and not batted an eyelid. :D

I survived the weekend although could hardly walk last night. I'm not sure if it's the shin splints or because it was the night after I went back to the gym for my programme review. Definitely walking around the city for 9 hours "christmas shopping" won't have helped, whichever it was!

This afternoon I watched The Time Traveler's Wife. Which I thought was a pretty good adaptation of a book that was pretty impossible to do justice to on screen! I cried. Though not as much as when I read the book. Which I now want to read again. I also cried at Into the Wild. I'm thinking I might put on a comedian next - enough with the crying already!

(PS My family are a bad influence on me. I bought clothes in real shops and I don't think I really needed any of them! :o)

Now, I know you are all aware of just how much I love the RBS and just how helpful and friendly and efficient I find them!

So you can imagine just how overjoyed I was to find that they refunded £182 "loan overpayment" from my RBS loan account to my current account and removed my RBS loan account from my online banking without any word to me about it - so I have absolutely no idea where any of the recent overpayments might be sitting as I now can't see what has been processed. All I know is that £182 is not any amount I have recently overpaid by.

And yes, my terms and conditions do say I can overpay. I tripple checked that a million times.

Words cannot quite express what I think of RBS's outstanding customer service right now!

I am thinking I might go into the branch with the outstanding amount, ask them to credit it and close the loan and current account there and then. Though I don't know what the outstanding amount is any more!

    And breath in, 2, 3, 4.... out 2, 3, 4... and again....
