    my debts now in october...

skycard - down to 1488.86 might go up slightly over the weekend (see below) but this is what i'll be attacking with £600 if/when bos refund my charges!

    bos card 939.38

    student od - £750

bills acc od - £150 and hoping to clear it off next friday when i get paid :j i paid off £150 this month, thanks mainly to rbs for the £100 for opening an account:T

well folks, this weekend is possibly going to be an expensive one. my birthday last week has left me in a very melancholy mood and to be honest i'm feeling like i've not achieved anythin in 25 years. so i've decided to get my finger out and work on my biggest achievement, my flat. i bought this at 19/20 just before the hosue prices went skyhigh, it's already more than doubled it's 'value' in 5 years, partly i must say due to theextensive work i've already done to it. but now it's time to finish it.

my first step is to finish my living room as it needs least work done and will give me a boost of one down...i'm going to buy more paint tomorrow and give the walls the third coat they need, then i'm going to fix the panel in the middle of the fireplace, it was decorated to match the old living room and doesnt fit in. it's probably only a weekends work so i'm aiming to do it by the end of october.

the second step is my kitchen, the tiling is almost finished, and will be done by dad or myself tomorrow. then i need to paper and paint. i have the paper and paste already and just need to get paint, but it'll be the same as im buying for the living room so should need only one pot (does that count as being dfw?? :rotfl: ). i also need to paint the roof, but i have the biggest pot of white emulsion in the shed so no spend. i want to put up wooden cornicing or something just to smarten up the edges of the walls, but i can think on that once it's papered and painted. i will need to put skirting round it, but again my dads going to look at that tomorrow. i'm hoping to get all this done through november so at least this living area of my flat will be perfect for xmas.

i can't decide whether to do the hall or bathroom next, i have very definate plans for both, basically just repapering and painting, though the bathroom floor needs tiling. i think these may have to wait till the new year as all my extra money will be needed for xmas this next couple of months. my bedroom merely needs new wardrobe doors, but i know what i'm doing there, and since i'm the only one that sees it i'm happy to leave that till last. my final aim is to have it all done by next summer so i can spend the nice weather sorting out the garden, sadly neglected by all those who share it!

so if i can stick to this plan i'll have a perfect home and garden by my next birthday and at least one thing to be proud of. i'm also aiming to be debt free by then too, which is achievable with hard work. oh and well done anyone who's actually read through all this!

    thanks.

unfortunatly he hasn't been in in three weeks ( i can now keep track of his visits...does that make me a stalker?), he was in yesterday for the first time since i started, his name is ivan (wasn't expecting that  ) with an italian sounding surname. he's 27 and lives not too far away from me, oh and everyone in the gym now knows he's my future husband. oddly enough most of the female staff have their wee fav who everyone else knows to stay away from. :rotfl:

Ivan is a popular name in Spain - you sure his surname is Italian? PM me if you like (keep it off the boards!) and I'll see what I can see.

    Yours mystically.
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Hey Lyns, we did our bathroom and can honestly say it's the one part of my debt that I don't regret at all. Everyone says how smart it looks and I'm convinced it'll help us sell in the next year or 2. Saying that, the hall has been badly neglected for the 2.5 years we've been here so we're finally getting around to doing that. With Homebase own brand paint and cheap brushes of course :-) I'll keep an eye on how you're getting on and it may give me the kick up the backside I need!

i redid the bathroom a couple of years ago, replaced the dodgy brown/orange suit with a white set, replaced the bath with a shower cubicle too, i'm in a one bed flat so it's not going to cause resale problems, and it made the room look much much bigger. it was given turquise washed panneling on the bottom hald and turquise walls with glitter paint over the top. it looks great and i was so happy with it when i got it done, but a black, white and red theme has overtaken me!

i've been putting a new kitchen in this year, got units in in january, gorgeous red high gloss ikea job, i've never been so much in love with my flat, i'm actually scared of finding someone and starting a family and having to leave it, it'll break my heart!

well it's been a lovely day shopping today, came home with heaps of stuff and in true dfw style didn't even hit the £30 mark!

most expensive was a quilty/padded baby jumpsuit thingy!?! from next, it's white with silver stars all over, says 'twinkle twinkle' on the front and 'wishing on a star' on the back, and on the hood has a little sticky up star! it's for my friends bump for it's xmas, it's due at the start of november, but i got the 3-6 months cause then it gets the wear right through the new year. it was £16.99 which is sooo expensive, but it'll just scream to nat that it's from auntie lynsay, i have an obsession with stars you see...and all my friends know it!
for nat herself i found a winnie the pook tea towel and oven gloves in woolies, half price, came to £7.48 altogether and i had a £5 voucher from lightspeed :D
i got a wicker type basket for my aunt and cousins 'girls night in' xmas pressie form internacionale £3
went to boots and got a vodka gift pack, bucks fizz gift pack and a homer simpson mug which will do two friends and my part of my stepdads 3 for 2 and i had a £10 voucher from pb so only cost a squid!

and to top it all off i bought myself a red glitter stiletto xmas tree decoration from debenhams! £2.50, but i couldnt resist!

also got a couple of bits for the house from poundland (grout and batteries)

    total spend £27.97!!!

    and i found a wallpaper i like for my bathroom, it's £11.99 a roll, but it's a small room so i'm only going to need 2/3 :j

    I want! *stamps foot*

My big weakness is pink shoes- used to have around 7 pairs at one stage. Pink and sparkly things always get my attention.

Oh no... I hate decorating. Would rather pull teeth if I am honest!

But I am also a sucker for things that are sparkly or fluffy!

Great diary thread. I do like to know what people are up too and of course to pinch any ideas... keep it up!

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

my brain really really hurts today...when my friend arrived at mine about 8ish i was on my second drink but taking a shot of apple sourz inbetween sips  i had three bottles in the house (one in the street on the way out, my friend was panicking we'd be arrested) and two doubles once we were out, and this morning i feel...well actually i missed the morning and woke up an hour ago!

now i don't drink very often and the only times i do it in the house is while getting ready to go out, honest. i can go weeks in a row without drinking if i'm not going out, but at times when i do drink it's like a fish.

i'm pleased to say i behaved myself in a totally ladylike manner, molesting only two lucky men ;) it was some chaps 21st so i gave him a big kiss (no tongues like!) then i spotted a scotsman and tested his trueness...and he was ;) then spent the whole night on the dancefloor shaking my thang!

it was a super night, my friend and i laughed so much, we turned up to our friends leaving party three hours late (she's leaving her work), stayed for two drinks then went clubbing while our friends went home to bed!

what i love best about nights out is the random folk we end up talking to, some lass at an atm asked me to play the five question game, basically you ask a random five questions....i almost got arrested asking a wpc to play :rotfl: then in the bakery on the way home two girls came over to me and said you work for .....fitness club? i said yes and they looked terrified and said you didn't see us here...i pointed to my chips and said you didn't see me either ;) :rotfl:

god us scot's lasses are a bit mental! :rotfl:
