 march feels like such a long and painful month! officially my worst since becoming a dfw...or at least thats the story today!!! I've not really updated on here for a few days, but then I've not been up to much to have much to say....oh so many muches!!!!

As far as work goes, today I handed in my letter to apply for a temp promotion...if I get it it's more money and more responsibility for around a six month stretch (maternity leave). I'm four days into a nine day stretch and my whole body hurts, I've been doing extra hours due to staff shortage and next week is going to be so tough. I'm working six days out of the seven with extra hours almost every day... But then I did do the rota so I can't complain! Just chanting to myself 'think of the money'

Diet/gym wise, well thats a big fat :rotfl: at the moment, I've no energy with all the extra hours I'm working so I simply can't work out. I'm hoping that by watching my diet I can at least prevent any weight gains, then once my hours even out again in a couple of weeks I can get back into my routine. This evening I am scoffing (when I can be bothered to stand back up again) chicken fajita's with potato salad. I'm also planning on batch cooking spicy lentil and tomato soup and chinese style lemon chicken for freezing for lunches.

the house....you know the giant were rabbit in wallace and gromit??? my dust bunnies make that look tame! :rotfl: can't remember the last time I hoovered and it just goes to show how tired I am that I don't care...Lenny you any good with a hoover an duster as well as an iron?

Social/personal life thats an even bigger :rotfl: than the diet! was out on wed to meet a friend (j-style on here) an we watched the football. Had a really great laugh and it was so nice to get out of the house. I've got my two nights out this week, dunno if I'll make friday as well as saturday, I'm working till at least 8 on friday night...will see. But these long hours mean it's another week where I can't see my pal and her baby, though did manage to shift it so I could go to college...think my priorities are a bit off there! :o

The hardest thing about being so tired is trying to stay positive. I always knew this was gonna be a tough month when I found out it was another five week month meaning two mortgage payments amongst others from one paycheque but at least when I had some energy I could work on other things than debt. But hey I just gotta keep going, if it doesn't kill me it'll make me stronger right?

LJ - I can utterly relate to you on the "March" problem (I'll be updating my diary later... grim reading!).

The temporary promotion. Good for you for going for it. The next couple of weeks may be tough as you convince the "powers that be" but keep that chant going and think about the extra dosh and how useful it will be. The added responsibility will also look great on the old CV and will stand you in good stead for future permanent promotions so think ahead.

Diet/gym - but yourself some slack, lady! It's a long-term goal, not a short-term fix and you'll get back on track. Batch cooking is a really positive start.

The house. Honey. I'm saying NOTHING! I wouldn't dare!

Friends/social life and (I think you forgot to prioritise this) college. College is numero uno I'm afraid. If it's a year's course then it'll be over and done with in three or four months so you must stick with this. Your (long-term) future depends on how you do. Yeah, you could fail and retake your exams, but why put yourself through it? Your friends will still be there in the summer and no more college on a Tuesday will give you an extra night to play catch up.

It might feel miserable at the moment, but hang on in there. You're building the foundations for a great new life and that's the hard bit.

Nose to the grindstone, girl! We're all behind you (shouting :rotfl:).

    Hi LJ.

Just wanted to say hi and get some sleep soon.

Everything feels bloody awful when you're tired, so, make sleep a priority so you can deal with everything else.

Now you may have realised that I somewhat put Anthea Turner to shame (I don't own white gloves though) however I would actually like to say stuff the housework.

Get yourself through the nine day stretch and things will feel much better.

Good luck with the promotion too.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    LA xx

well possible good/bad news depending on which side of the coin you look. I got an answerphone message from one of my bosses tonight (no missed call on my phone tho, weird!) the other p/t member of staff can come back to work this week meaning I can get two days off this week and possibly a second evening to see nat and the wee one. the bad news is I'll miss out on an extra days pay, but as I cna still do an extra 2 hours or so each of the other 5 days I can still come away with decent overtime.

so LA if i do get both days off I promise to spend a grand total of five minutes of it on housework, I'll let you suggest what that time would be best spent doing :D

PS. Good news that you can get some time off AND some overtime. That's called having your cake and eating it me thinks. ;)

I would strongly advise making a list of things to do in the five spare minutes you have.

Then file it somewhere safe. I usually chose to file my lists in the shredder bin (after they've been through the shredder).

    Works for me!
