Why would they start laughing?
The ONLY people allowed to look at the scans are nowhere near the scanners in the airoprt.
So sorry Baza its was my rather weak attempt at some humor. At 64 whilst i would not run through the concourse naked, i really could not careless who sees what. Basically we are all the same!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

Once people accept this without any fuss then the next steps will be implemented. People are blind
But you still have a choice.
If your not prepared to go through a body scanner then you dont fly.
If you are willing to do it then you can fly.0 -

So what you are saying is that unless I allow myself to be strip-searched I am not allowed to travel by air? That doesn't sound like freedom of movement to me.
Countries like the old USSR and China use restrictions on people's movements to oppress them. It's a pretty effective technique.
We shall see what happens when I go through Heathrow next week. I suffer from arthritis and can't raise my arms up as high as they tell you to when going through the scanner. It's actually worse than turning up in a wheelchair because with the chair at least they can see you can't do it. Because there are no outward signs of arthritis I have had problems when being asked to hold my arms out for a pat-down and not being able to do it for the required length of time.
It's amazing how I keep getting picked out of "random" pat-downs. I'm sure it has nothing to do with my Islamic surname. I think in the minds of the security guys someone who is white with an English first name and an Islamic surname is more likely to be a convert to Islam and thus more likely to be an extremist too. I'm actually an atheist but unfortunately it doesn't say that on my passport.0 -
How would they know that you had an islamic surname at the body search part....no-ones ever looked at my passport at that stage?0

but the body searches are past that...so do they 'radio' ahead, describing the person's clothing?0

NO, i never mentioned strip searches.
If the dentist wants to pull a tooth and i dont agree to it i dont let it happen. If your that bothered about the "scan" then you also have the choice to travel or not.

But this a security measure ?
I have nothing to hide and welcome any extra measures to ensure my saftey.
Why do you object to such a thing?

You need to make staff aware that you have a medical condition. Its not like your gonna be the first passenger going through with arthritus is it?

Its also amazing how they "randomly" check groups of lads, weird looking people and even worse, "random" people.
What is the point of security if people are not searched at random???
Surely your being racist towards "white English" folk here? are you saying you get picked out because of your muslim name?
