Although a few happy to shoot Doctors and health care workers and declare themselves pro life while taking the life of another, mad enough to do something for their cause on board an aircraft...possibly.

I agree. There is bad in every religion, it was only today the Pope was harping on about equality laws etc... There are always a few extremists (not that i'm calling the Pope an extremist of course)

Nonetheless less, as yet, the current issue is with Islamic extremists.

I personally think if we were to search every person who fitted the profile of a Muslim it would be a huge abuse of rights and something i find abhorrent, the vast amount of Muslims are just like you or I. But, i did and still do think that searching everyone who fits such a profile would be more effective than this scanner.

  • Ok then, all y'all who are up in arms about this erosion of our civil liberties or whatever - what have you done to stop it?

Other than moaning on message boards, down the pub or - in response to particularly annoying circumstances - in the letters page of the local paper, what are you doing to protect the hard-won civil liberties of our nation?

Because if it's that important, and you care enough, then surely you're complicit in our freedoms being strangled by the clutching hand of surveillance if you just sit on your fat a*ses and do nowt but moan about it......

I think you'll find people are 'discussing' the issue - On a thread created for that purpose.

    Run along.

I don't have an issue with it as I have nothing to hide. I also don't feel its an intrusion of human rights, the images are totally unpersonal, the person viewing them cannot even see you. Its not like they are demanding you stand there nude infront of the entire airport security staff!

That said, I think most of the airport security measures introduced over the last years seem to be more about being SEEN to be doing something. I have serious doubts about their effectiveness.

Flew to Europe over the weekend. Saw someone having their Mach 3 removed from them at security. Thing is, the very same razors being sold in Boots just after security. Where is the logic?

Should'nt have happened you can take a disposable razor with fixed blades in your carry on luggage, the only razor blades you cant take are the old school removable whole blades.

    Why would they start laughing?
The ONLY people allowed to look at the scans are nowhere near the scanners in the airoprt.

Admit it though, if you worked there and king dong walked through you'd be tempted to tell your mates wouldn't you!
