You should try it, or at least have a sniff of the shower gel in Boots. For all the talk about it on here it's definitely not universally loved. Just like every other brand some love it, others don't. Salesaddict with her huge stash doesn't have any and thevicster has loads. I like it for the fancy packaging and the pretty hatboxes.
Everyone's talking about salesaddicts pics but am I the only one who thinks thevicster has just as much. If all of those boxes were emptied out and put on the table.....
I'm loving this thread, it's like p*rn for cosmetic addicts:p

I did try and tell SalesAddict this :rotfl:I thought I was being quite clever as well by leaving things in their boxesCompletelyLost wrote: »
Aww ok, thanks for letting me know. Oh and I'm almost glad you said it has coconut in it, because I can't use it (allergic to anything coconut). I like the pretty packaging though
Snipped... erm, don't know if I should tell you this, but they do it in other flavours toolostinrates wrote: »I don't think its about the size of the stash but the fact we have a; more than we need and b: are sometimes spending money that might be better spent elsewhere.....for some people its credit cards, for others savings. Most of us are using more than usual to deal with the stash and yet still only running out of some items. There is nothing wrong with using things like BOGOFs when it works out prudent: there is something financially not right, when we have more of a product we can use in, say..the season i9ts designed for ...so heavy moisturiser in winter, or showergel in 6-12 months! This is not prudent and is rarely monesaving as our skins requiremnts change with seasons/years and as new developments are made we want to enjoy the benefits of those too.
I don't think its all about the toiletries/cosmetics for some contributors but other things, and hopefully by dealing with the problem of unnecessary expenditure or under indulgence, or hoarding here the benefits will spread to the areas of their lives where they will feel a truly life enhancing benefit.

Couldn't agree more:D
Haven't used up anything today, but think I will throw out some old moisturisers and an Avon facemask pot which made my skin all red and blotchy. Avon skincare just doesn't seem to agree with me at all. Would love to try the Clinque moisturising gel...someday! Sounds as if it will be the right kind of thing for my skin. Interesting about spots on chin, does this apply to jawline as well?
Was very good today, got very close to Waitrose and walked away! Darn whoever mentioned the cinnamon stuff . Agreed about the set aside a day to test it out:rotfl:
Also had to go to Boots to get a prescription and...DID NOT BUY A THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was perilously close to the Soap and Glory, but did not succumb! Just got a meal deal :A
Am off to read the rest of the thread I have missed

I have spent years and goodness only knows how much money on trying to find the fountain of youth from a lotion or potion.
I now realise that enough sleep, happiness, good food and plain water (yuk:() and a spf15 cream are all it takes to keep you looking your best.
Did I mention chocolate and sex too? Not necessarily at the same time:D
I was a marketing man's dream, but not any more
Are you being a bit too hard on yourself? It's not as if you were buying Creme de la Mer or Chanel every month.
What do you plan on buying instead? If I needed a really cheap moisturiser I'd get the Aldi one.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

I love Elizabeth Arden too. It doesn't seem to be all that fashionable as a brand apart from the 8hour cream + expensive prevage/botox effect creams but they often have really good value and do excellent GWP's. They don't seem to do that much advertising or constantly launch new things.

I am pleased to tell my stash is now in a new display unit. Where I used to keep my handbags.:) So it is all orderly and I will now be able to see it everytime I open my wardrobes and this should make it easier and more pleasurable to use and should stop me buying any more for at least 5 years.0 -

Well it's a long story, but I'll try and condense it. I had a £79 nails inc gift experience voucher for a manicure and pedicure which expired at the end of November. I made an appointment at a concession in Debenhams. They cancelled the first appointment, so I rearranged it and changed my plans. On the day of the rearranged appointment, somebody rang me less than 15 minutes before my appointment to say that nobody would be there to do my treatments. I went straight to the store and was left standing at the the nails inc counter like an idiot. There has been no apology at all and I have heard nothing from the concession since. My £79 voucher has also now expired and is no use.
 Thats outrageous. I thought customer service was their no 1 priority in these days of recession. Anyway you have your letter there. Very well structured, concise and to the point. Send that letter off to the manager at Debenhams and I bet you will get 2 experiences for the price of that one.0 -
evening guys, sorry I don't post more...by the time I've caught up it's normally quite late! I've had a good day though (working through my major stock pile).
Today I have finished the following and I promise not to replace them unless they're a necessity (face wash is not a necessity).
- Shampoo x 2 bottles- I actually used the dregs and combined them- I feel so virtuous.
- Conditioner - timotei - I don't like this stuff unless it's seriously cheap.
- Orange shower gel- primark stuff, I love it! at 50p it was a bargain and worked as both shower gel and as bath foam. (Also OH will use it).
- Body Shop day cream - I am saddened at this disappearing as I will now need to use my Simple stuff up.
- Handwash x 2 - I have replaced with cheapy primark shower gel.
- Mens shower gel- this must have been finished for a while so I binned it.
- Dermalogica medibac facewash - I LOVE this and would replace it if I had the money...which I don't.
I love this thread, there's too much to comment on! Except... everytime I go into Boots/M&S/anywhere I end up thinking of this and feeling virtuous when I avoid the toiletries.
(Someone asked if I stockpile vitamins- I do! I also stockpiled toothbrushes and toothpaste...pretty much everything... thai green curry paste...everything really! All in neat boxes in cupboards - i.e. hidden!).If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
