I just bought aldi aqua complete moisturiser, concealer pen and lipstick. All are so far comparable to my Clinique products but at a fraction of the cost! So money saving if they continue to be so good!

Let us know so I can invest if they are! ;)

  • Oooh ok thanks, ill have a look and find it :)

I did see one photo of everything laid out on a table but couldnt remember who had posted it.

That wasn't mine, mine was all laid out on the kitchen floor - although there was another hatbox to add to it and a few other bits and pieces I've found along the way opps! (not bought anything though)
I haven't done a pic, no. I might at some point though. My toiletries are mainly high street brands from B&M and Poundland :o I buy a lot of cheapie items, but in bulk. I think in future I'd be better off spending a little more on some stuff I really love, rather than wasting £1 on an item that I get sick of very quickly.

or just buy one at a time ;) when I've used my stash up I don't think I'll replace all the expensive stuff. I love S&G don't get me wrong, but £5.50 for a 500ml shower gel is pricey, yes it's in a pump action, it smells lovely and would prob last a couple of months but even so...I do love the daily smooth but it's £8 a tube and one tube lasts me about a month. Maybe it would balance itself out if I'm not buying lots of stuff all the time? I dunno I don't have to think about it for quite while yet, a long while yet!
That's true. I begrudge spending more than a couple of £s in body wash and soap

There is part of me that agrees because at the end of the day all any of us need is a bar of soap and water to get clean, but it's about the luxary of it, it's about treating myself...I just need to learn the balance between remembering it's about washing and pampering IYKWIM
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!

I will do, oh I bought the foundation too. The moisturiser has sea salts in it apparently and Gok is supposed to have raved about it, but I can't find this online. It sank in very well too, and left no shine or greasiness, just like Cliniques.

The lipstick is identical to my clinique soft bloom lipstick. I applied the clinique one side and the aldi version the other and it was 99% the same shade and feel wise. The test will be how long it lasts during the day and if it feathers or not. As thats why I love the clinique one as it doesn't feather or dry. I'd love it if this aldi one is good as its a saving of about £13!

  • Right, ok, in an attempt to cure myself i am going to post the photos of my stash

Lovely stuff. Well at least that is all a pleasure to use. No nasties for you to feel you have to get through first eh? :)
  • All the "nice" things were bought when i was going through my QVC phase years ago and this is when i also found Liz Earle

I have considered selling some but as i said in the original thread, i would just re-buy everything. I seem to have a hoarding problem as i like having lots of the same item for some reason.

I have sold a few items that i know i wont use but i think its best i dont sell this lot as i really would just panic and start buying it all again :o
I also think i need it as a reminder that i dont need to buy anything else, if i start getting rid of things i think my brain will think i can start buying again.

This challenge is exactly what i needed, i just bought my first flat and ive realised that all this "stuff" is such a waste.

In my defense i didnt buy anything in January and dont plan on buying anything else for quite a while ;)

I also received quite a lot as presents in January which i am passing onto other people rather than adding to my stash :D

Oh, i didnt buy the Liz Earle TSV today and i didnt even know it was on until i was flicking through! Now thats progress lol

I can really identify with what you are saying.
Well done for posting your photos. You are doing really well.

Well done for being brave Jewelleryfan, and may I say your stash looks incredibly well organised! I hope you get lots of pleasure from using it all. :o
I have rosacea & seborrheic dermatitis so my skin reacts to most things.
Snap!! :o It's horrid isn't it? My rosacea made me quite depressed, I was only diagnosed just over a year ago after suffering in silence for a couple of years. I think that's another reason I have so much part used moisturiser - I would start using something, then it would aggravate my skin, so I would just change to something else. Sometimes I just stick to Bio Oil as I love the smell of it and it is gentle and not too greasy.
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/
  • Hi all,

I have been following this thread for a while and it has helped me to realise what a problem I have and it has brought me to my senses . So thank you all for a great thread - I have signed up so I can join in. I am going to try really hard not to buy any new products until I have used the ones I have. I've already resisted some great offers, but it has been hard - I think I need to avoid shops altogether! I have taken some photos of my stash for you to see however I am unable to post them due to being a new user  . I'll try again on my next post...

Does anyone know when I'll be able to post pictures? I can't even save the post I did with photos as a draft anywhere :( . I've lurked here for a long time but have never felt the need to post until I discovered this thread.

ETA: I give up - I wouldn't mind if it let me know when I'd be able to post, but I can't see anything in FAQ/help.
