No buying toiletries in February challenge!

I did buy a new facial scrub from Tesco last night even though I have some left. I needed to - I've been using Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub for a couple of years now but it doesn't seem to be doing the job any more. I've got a blackhead and a couple of whiteheads on my right cheek bone which have been there since Christmas (am putting this break out down to trying BE foundation) and although there were more there which have cleared up these ones won't budge. Bought a tube of the Neutrogena one so here's hoping it helps.
I have been using Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator since Christmas (got it in a gift set) and whilst it's nice it's pretty ineffective. x
LOL - not much point in that then! I'm currently working my way through a tube of Regenerist thermal cleanser stuff which is an exfoliator too - I love it but it's the only tube I've got so when it's gone it'll be onto an ordinary cleanser and Boots Expert exfoliator. I'll report back!It is a man :T he is so nice and normal it is untrue. He is debt free and not at all materialistic like the ex husband, I don't feel I have to be "up with it" all the time. He likes me for who I am not like the ex who tried to "mold" me, almost destroying the person I was. I am so happy today I could sing, but best not I am tone deaf!
:j:j Brilliant! You go ahead and sing if you want - in the car or the bath! :j:jrosemary54 wrote: »lol, the offer states 1 item has to be skincare, which is ok as I can buy the moisture surge which is great for post holiday dry skin(not that I have booked a holiday yet!)
just worked all morning at the conference, feet and back ache but am going for my hot stone massage soon:j:j
Moisture surge is fantastic isn't it - I'm hoping that there might be a mini of it in the Boots GWP when it's turn comes around, as it's so handy to take away for weekends when we're camping.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've caught the tail end of this thread and just thought i'd also mention a company called Neways. They manufacture beauty products and household including make up which are free from toxins, chemicals and non cancer causing.
They've been around a while but you can only purchase items from a distributor. Not wishing to sell myself but just following on from this thread. (I'm am a distributor, but i've a feeling i shouldn't be mentioning that on MSE).

The products are more expensive in the shops, but are so much more concentrated so a little really does go a long way. My daughter has excema and since using their bath products, its really helped her.
Anyway, good luck with the february challenge.0 -

Hello ladies and hugs to everyone else who is feeling a bit blue.
I tortured myself this morning by going in to Savers and Boots en route back from the bank, but am pleased to say that I left both stores empty handed. I was also extremely shocked and surprised to find that the foot cream I am using is actually still in production and smells and looks just the same!!

I bought it at least 11 years ago from a £1 store when it was still made by Fisons......and true to form I have another unopened one in my stash somewhere. :embarasse
Well done to the ladies who have posted photos of their stash. I'm afraid I'm still not feeling brave enough, although I have considered photographing my hoard of just one particular product eg hand cream or nail polish. I'm feeling panicky just thinking about it though.
:)Thats right, that cream has been going for years. Babafette wait for me to post my photo then see if you feel differently about posting yours.
No need to feel panicky, you know you are among friends:A0 -
A lady I sit next to at work has been frightening me about the ingredients of beauty products. The toxic ingredients they contain which can cause cancer.
I am worried now. I have been looking at some organic products, shower gel, hair care and moisturisers but they are more costly than the 'toxin' ones.
I was looking at this site too about all the ingredients:
http://www.safecosmetics.org
Is this something anyone else is concerned about?
Does anyone know of any 99% chemical free products that don't cost the earth?
or should I not bother? As its everywhere these chemicals, in my food, the air, and the cleaning stuff I use one my car.
In a word, no. There will always, always be scare stories about ingredients in things. Frankly, if you eat processed foods at all or go out and walk through city streets you're being exposed to plenty of toxins in your daily life anyway, but for the most part a healthy diet, regular or at least occasional exercise, and a smile on your face will offset the worst of the damage. Remember your SPF in your moisturiser, and wear sun protection on any exposed skin when out in the summer months. There you go, problem solved!
I've finally killed off the Avon SSS shower cream. WIBA? yes, I would if they'd not discontinued it! It was 99p with a purchase from one of the clearance brochures so that'll be the end of that. It was lovely and rich and creamy though and smelt delicious. It would encourage me to try another from the SSS range though.
Sainsburys kindly paid me 79p to take away 2 x Dove deodorants earlier on - so bear in mind that's a good place to use the vouchers. The deodorants are on 2 for £2 and the voucher scanned through at £2.79. They also have some lovely fleeces on clearance at the moment - I got a nice cherry red one for £3.
Right, I'm off to the bath. I shall cleanse, facepack, eye mask, body scrub and have a darned good soak! I'm on my "week off" from my Evra patch this week too so shall be making the most of the chance to wallow in the bath as often as possible!:T
*edit* Forgot to say, brace yourself for confessions after the weekend - my pal is staying for the weekend and wants to go to the Boots Clearance place. I expect I shall fail to resist temptation!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi,It means it deleted some of the post to highlight the relevant bit and save space on the board too.
Off to get rid of my very dark green nail polish.
