OH declared in Asda tonight that he had had enough of 'smelling like a girl' so I gave in and bought him 4 Lynx shower gels (in the 4 for £3) offer. He wasn't really smelling like a girl, probably more like lemons or apples
:rotfl:That's just about acceptable: at least it wasn't roses or other flowers!:rotfl:
Please call me 'Pickle'

Evening,
I've just been to the all night Asda. I went for shampoo... I came back with a lot more, courtesy of their '4 for £3' offer. I was going to wait to go to Boots to spend my vouchers, but I worked out that in Boots it would have cost me £15.90 for everything I got so I am better off spending the cash now and getting the value out of the Boots vouchers later on.
I genuinely needed everything I bought, or will need it within the next week. I spent £6.28 and am now stocked up for the forseeable...- 3x Nivea pearl deodorants (I'm onto my last one from when they were £1, and then I only have the free Dove deos from the Boots glitch which I don't like the smell of... so am using them as shoe sprays).
- 2x packs of Always (don't have any of these left)
- 1x toothbrush (mine needed replacing, I've had it for about a year!)
- 1x packet of razors (I have two disposables left)
- 1x Herbal Essences shampoo (I don't have any shampoo)
I also bought a bar of baby soap. I was tempted to get a body spray and other things that weren't necessities (like the chocolate bubble bath) but I actually though about what I needed for once and only got the tried & tested essentials.0 -

The Dove freebies are weird fragrances imo. DD agrees with me. We found the mint and waterlily the most acceptable of the and will use it up as a freebie but would never choose to buy it. Mint is something I wouldn't choose my underarms to smell of, nor lemon or cucumber. Odd I think! Maybe they made a boob and just want to get rid of stock?!! What do others think?

Well done to CompletelyLost - sounds like some carefully thought out and considered purchases there. :T
One thing finished here, and another binned.....
When I took the first bit out of the Sanctuary Mande Lular cream and started rubbing it in I decided that it just didn't smell right, and that I wasn't confident it wasn't going to cause a reaction if it was off, so that has gone in the bin.I oughtn't to be surprised really - I must have had it for years (saving it for best, and using it every now and again as a treat! *rolls eyes*) so it serves me right. Now onto S&G Peachy Cream big butter which seems nice so far.
The finished thing was my Olay Regenerist heating face wash - WIBA? Yep - for sure. This is my favourite facewash and I would happily have used the recent Boots voucher to buy some, except that I have several other facewashes in stock so decided to wait until the end of the year when there will no doubt be another of those vouchers.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've just had an epiphany.
If we only ever buy stuff that we really, really love, we will still save money. How? Because we won't get bored half way through and buy something else cause it's cheap etc and end up with a house full of stuff we don't like!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Logic indeed. With things like deodorant, toothpaste (and other boring essentials) - I've learnt to stick with what works now.. as like you said, in experimenting you end up lumbered with a ton of products that you hate and are a chore to use up. Now I need to start applying this logic to my makeup purchases!0 -
this buy what we need and love doesn't work.
new technology, new scientific findings, and discontinuations. My hair products are great, but its the result of trying loads of diferent ones in different combinations, leaving dozens of bottles almost empty....I had the perfect treatment conditioner...and they stopped it, so started trying everything new..................
