No buying toiletries in February challenge!

Bought some Benefit Dandeliion from ebay, which I think is fake. Going into Boots to compare at lunchtime. The box looked wrong when I took ito out of the jiffy bag. The printing is not straight, the plastic piece the brush sits in feels cheap, the cover around the brush is rubbish. The colour is wrong, the brush is cheap and nasty, it smells horrible and does not look like Dandelion. I have used this for years and love it, I use a dusting over my foundation. Thank heavens I have a small scrape left out of the old box! Wil check at lunch time and if it is fake I will report it to ebay.
And, I feel like putting my boss through the shredder:eek:
Oh, such a shame about the Dandelion!!!!! Why do people purposely sell fakes?? All my stash has been bought from Boots, Debs, HOF, Superdrug, Body Shop etc etc etc - reputable stores so that I know they are genuine and when I list them on eBay I am sure of their origin!
I am with you on the boss thing too
Everyone, step away from the S&G offer, Avon catalogue and the Grabbit board!!!!!! i've also got a bodyshop almond body butter, a no7 body moisteriser, a burts bees one and a mini fcuk body lotion...plus i've recently opened a brazil nut body butter form the body shop.
So i really don't need any more right now...plus the only one i really like is the daily smooth, the original pink one is too sweet and the butter up is ok but i wouldn't buy it again once i've used it. So out of 3 products i'd actually only buy one of them, so there is no point in buying the set for £9 something.
Anyway that's me having given myself a logical talking to and i now feel a it calmer about the whole thing :t:rotfl:

I keep looking at the E.L.F. site myself - I want to try a foundation brush as I've heard so many people now saying how good they are.....they seem to be out of stock at the moment though. There are a few things I've got my eye on on there but I'll bide my time until everything I want is in stock I think.
I keep finding myself on the Elf web site too... I really want to try their mineral lipsticks (I own one lipstick, an Avon one that I bought for £1.50) but I won't. Not until I've got through the insane amount of lipglosses that I have stashed
I am resisting all offers, glitches etc - not even interested! It is truly amazing! Some of my stash is slowly selling on eBay so that helps a lot. Mind you, I treated myself to something new earlier:

That necklace is gorgeous
Now not a good time to tell you I layer lipstick and lip gloss often?0 -

I'm not really tempted to order anyway as it seems pointless to pay £2.95 delivery for a £3.50 lipstick, and I can't afford to order £30's worth for free delivery.0 -

Sorry to hear about your ebay fake joesaunt....it's terrible that people can actually sell this stuff with a clear conscience!!
I've noticed though, that I've had more trouble with ebay buyers in the last 2 months , then in the last 7 years!!...theres so many horror stories atm..
Anyway, can I ask what is "dandellion"? I hear you ladies talk about it, but have no idea what it is!!
:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

Seriously pee'd off with ebay at the mo for all sorts of reasons.
Ebay seems to have more sellers than buyers now. When I first used ebay (mostly to buy) it was much better. Sellers got fair prices and buyers got reasonable bargains. Loads of the stuff they sell is shipped from China (fake). She said its not as if they are a mega expensive brand in the first place, it is just that they are popular and this is why they are copied.
It does cost around 3 times what Maybelline/Rimmel does. It can only be considered reasonably priced when compared with MAC/Clinique/Lancome. etc.If you know it is a copy and are willing to buy a copy then that is fair enough, but when you are being told it is a genuine article and it isn't that is what really annoys me.
Plus for anybody who is ok with fakes they only want to pay the price for a fake, not almost the full price of the genuine article. I once (knowingly) ordered a pair of Laboutin red soled shoes from a China seller. They were so good, box and everything included that people would easily believe they were real. I don't remember how much exactly I paid but approx €50. Now they sell them for almost as much as the real ones would cost in a department store.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Evening, ladies
Have been away for a few days, OH spent the week here with me so was a bit, um, busy
Have some more bits added post-Birthday/Valentines so will get yet another photo to post; will probably put them all together so at least the full scale of my collection can be seen.
Have used up:
Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner (sample size) - WIBA? Yes, it was really effective and even tasted lovely. I've used Blistex products before, they're so much more effective than Vaseline as they absorb far better. I've had this sample for ages, and was hesitant on opening it but there was nothing wrong with it.
Diorskin Nude (sample size) - WIBA? It was by far the best foundation I've ever used, blended in so nicely. May consider investing in a bottle sometime in the future :cool:Almost forgot to tell you - I started a new Sanctuary Body Butter last night - it is fab!!! It's a 150ml pot so should keep me going for a while.Pinkphoenix wrote: »Contemplating using up my several dove beauty bars on face...
