Yes, just been into Boots and she was horrified. She said its not as if they are a mega expensive brand in the first place, it is just that they are popular and this is why they are copied.

Oh, well, I am going to report it. I'm not going to contact the seller first, they know it is a fake or do I have too?
I would contact her and tell her what you've told us. She may refund you straight away, which would be better for you in the short term as a paypal dispute to get your money back might take a while. If she gets funny with you I'd get on to ebay then.

It's not just the money issue, I have sold on ebay for years and would never rip people off in this way. It is against the law to knowingly sell fakes or copies, which the seller is obviously doing. It is the principle of it, which is really grating on me. My ex-husband sold a cd which he had bought from a car boot sale on ebay without knowing it was a copy, it was a very well done one! He had his account suspended indefinately once ebay were notified, I feel very strongly about this sort of thing. If you know it is a copy and are willing to buy a copy then that is fair enough, but when you are being told it is a genuine article and it isn't that is what really annoys me.

Phew, got that off my chest didn't I

It's the best insect repellent money can buy, seriously. It's recommended in all the Hillwalking magazines and up North all of the hostels and wee local shops sell it to the hikers and climbers. We coat our tent in it before we head off to the hills. The wee blighters hate it! :rotfl:
LOL, that actually has been recommended to me for the horses...

I seem to own the only horse on the planet who gets brought out in hives with it. bless her, I bought 5 on ebay last year, sprayed her - and within half an hour she looked like an orange sheet of bubble wrap where she'd swollen up where the spray went... :rotfl:

sold 3,and kept two to use on me when im out with her :D

Oh I wasn't suggesting you didn't report the seller. I was just suggesting you cover your own back, money wise, before reporting her.
I'm in total agreement with you. Sadly Ebay is crawling with fakes nowadays :(

I didn't mean to "shout" at you either! I am just so cross about the whole thing.

I have emailed the seller and will just wait and see what happens now. I bet it will end up as a refund and they will carry on selling the copies as if nothing has happened.

Anyway on a good note, the boss has just made me a cup of tea and has given me a biscuit!:T white chocolate chip cookie

    Oh no! :(
I really shouldn't have checked on S&G's FB page this morning. They have a new gift set out today - 'A Butter Suite' - 3 body butters in tubs, including 'the daily smooth'. God, I think they've been reading this thread! I've been desperate for the daily smooth in a tub rather than a tube.I REALLY don't know if I can resist this with 1/3 off at Boots. They have something new called 'Glow Getter' too, luckily bronzing/tanning stuff doesn't interest me.
    Help! :(

oooohhhh no!!! La la la la la la I can't hear you *sticks fingers in ears*

eklynne, I saw that too, but they seem like small sizes. Not very good value if they are!! You must resist! :rotfl:

um...I think this might be one time when size doesn't matter!

They're 150ml, so 3/4 the size of a Body Shop one. So at £9.33 with 1/3 off at Boots just now actually makes it quite a good buy. Sorely tempted :o

    *feeling a wobble coming on*
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*

  • I've just had a look at it...oh I really want one :( I don't need one but I want one

I'm going to look at my stash right now and see how many S&G body butters I've got in there to try and put me off buying more

  • right I've got 2 tubes of daily smooth (250ml) and 2 tubes of butter up (200ml)

I've also got a bodyshop almond body butter, a no7 body moisteriser, a burts bees one and a mini fcuk body lotion...plus I've recently opened a brazil nut body butter form the body shop.

So I really don't need any more right now...plus the only one I really like is the daily smooth, the original pink one is too sweet and the butter up is ok but I wouldn't buy it again once I've used it. So out of 3 products I'd actually only buy one of them, so there is no point in buying the set for £9 something.

Anyway that's me having given myself a logical talking to and I now feel a it calmer about the whole thing :T:rotfl:

Just had a mega catch up - have been AWOL for nearly a week and you lot cant' half chat!

Still no more things bought :A

Avon catalogue has gone out with nothing bought either so that's good :A

Used up a couple of things on Sunday night:
Avon facemask, can't remember what - in a blue tub - WIBA - no didn't like it at all :(
S&G Righteous butter mini - WIBA yes I love it, have a big tub which I normally use but the little tub had been part used ages ago so I decided to finish up.

I'm washing out all the pink S&G pots and keeping them as they're fab (and the labels peel off really easily too). The bottoms all went in the dishwasher (top shelf) fine tops were washed up.

I painted my nails on Saturday with M&S nailvarnish mum got me last Christmas. Did pretty well, no chips until yesterday and even then it's only the tips and not peeling off like the nails inc I've used the last few weeks.
