soappie - either we've had a VERY heavy frost, or it snowed a very small amount in the night. It was so cold I kept waking up in the night (but not enough to get a blanket) and had to switch the heating back on (it goes off at 7.30) to encourage myself out of bed :o

It was probably both. I hear there was a smattering of snow in the northern climes around your way this morning. We just had slippy frost and ice but it's all gone now.

Huge hugs Jo - wishing your Mum a speedy recovery

Strange day at work. My vaguely psychic side popped up again this morning. As I was going to work, I was thinking I wouldn't be doing my particular job much longer. Get in to work this morning, to find one colleague in another building, and the other colleague on tenterhooks. She was being interviewed to make the job she's been doing for the last few months permanent - by the colleague that was in another building! Turns out one of the other candidates was the person who I had taken over from.

When the interviewing is finished, I get called into a quiet room by the colleague who did the interviewing to find that they had actually interviewed for two jobs - one of which was the one I'm doing (though quite how it can be turned into a full time job is beyond me!).

However, it seems I've impressed them so much (wasn't particularly difficult!) that they want to keep me on on the same part time basis so are moving me to another team in the office. Heaven knows what I'll do there - they seem to be coping on their own without another person. Hey ho, it's nice to be in demand, but it won't be nice if I'm going to have even less to do!

But I have flown and will award myself a kitchen star shortly...

    Lost my blooming post again!!!!!
Jo, huge hugs Hun, I suppose you will have lots of advice by now….I was going to suggest wet wipe and dab the marks after hovering any loose dirt….
I have cream carpets on the stairs and upstairs and although haven’t had any major disasters on this carpet, I have used wet wipes for the odd little mark(on the last carpet, from DD’s room through to the bathroom, there were a lot of marks from where DD had been sick…..they needed to be replaced eventually!!!!)
Hope you manage to sort it. Continuing thoughts, hugs and prayers for you, your mum and your sister xx

Seriously, folks, if there's some kind of mistake, you're only as good as your paperwork. nd, if you go into a panic when something does go wrong, having the backup is the best thing. If it's getting too bulky, would it be worth scanning, saving and burning onto a DVD? Or a memory stick kept somewhere away from the house in case of accident?

    .
    boring obs but cancelled now
£111  I knew it was expensive in The South ;)
    actually that's what I'm paying hereabouts - at Christmas, in Derby (Mackworth) it was 5 p a litre cheaper - that's 20p a gallon (about) so I filled up...it's about a penny a litre cheaper over t'border (south yorks/sheffield)

Ceebeeby - it's burn 'em day today - when you can fling out old documents. Unless you run a business and have tax issues bank statements - 1 year. Payslips - Keep till you get your P60 ; verfy ;) then throw. P60 and other tax stuff - is I THINK 3 years (but a P60 is small I save mine sentimental reasons. - I have some so old I was paid in LSD :rotfl: I lie!
IF you are separating from a KH then you need at least a years worth of everything for the Form E (the joys...)

Hugs to Hypno and Jo - I was thinking it was a good job your mum wasn't en route when the symptoms manifest themselves too

Hello everyone! How is everyone doing? I've not had chance to go through the thread yet but i will try catch up later. Sorry not been around much lately, had loooooads going on. Stresses, major and minor! Emergency dental appointments, masses of people harassing me and visiting...and a biggy stress with social services(shall explain further down!) and Organising the wedding...Crikey:eek:
The wedding is going super well! Still not got my dress yet, however i am going to try some on on wednesday and see what suits me, then order one from hongkong. I've just ordered the girls bridsmaid dresses off ebay(pictures are on our wedding website if anyone wants to see) and they are perfect! I brought their shoes a few weeks ago from next. I was rather impressed with the gifts we've brought for all the bridesmaids too! I got some stunning black and white 'pandora'esk' charm bracelets from hongkong which cost pennies! The hotel, food, ceremony, dj etc is all organised and deposites paid! I finally choose a simple design(cheap also!) for my wedding stationary, and intend to carry it all the way in place cards, table planners, etc etc! I've made all my save the date cards now, and will be sending them out this week...Then i will get started on the mountain task of invites!!! Oh, and we've picked our wedding favours, which i am thinking you will all like. 0002031A.gifcancer reserch have provided me with 60 of the pins/badges, these are pinned onto a place card/plaque of sorts with the message-

A donation has been made on your behalf to cancer reasrch uk to celebrate the marriage of Jason and Zoe 16th july 2010, please keep this pin as a special memento

How lovely is that? My aunty has skin cancer and does a lot of fundraising for them and she told me about it :)
If anyone wants to know anymore of my plans i've set up a wedding website(mainly for my mum to follow but its become quite popular!!!) the address is at the bottom in my signature!
Amelia is now walking! which is brilliant! Jase is on the phone as i type, having an interview for a job which he is desperate to get. Fingers crossed!
We are back in court next tuesday, which i am not looking forward to at all, but i guess i'll just have to suck it up!
My hip is getting better, still not great by far but better than i was, I have an apointment with the hip surgeons in a few weeks and they considering a replacement  however the one good thing to come out of it is I now have my disabled badge which means our landlord has ok'd putting in a disabled spot outside the house...this is fab news as our new neighbours arent the nicest, and despite popping round when they first moved in, and asking nicely if they would mind NOT parking outside our house they still insist on parking all three of their cars right there....making jase push me half way up a very steep hill just to get to our front door.... and after my social worker helped out with a form the DLA have looked into my claim and upped it, this means i now have the money to hire a cleaner and pop amelia into a nursery a few days a week. It also ment that i could treat myself to a decent(and comfortable!) wheelchair.
I shall leave the social services story for later...think i have wittered on a bit too much! Sorry!
    Anywhos listy....

    Evening all

No flying here apart from washing up! DH is out until about 8pm so I enjoyed a jacket potato with cheese and beans for tea, with some salad :). And I'm in my pjs and due to speak to my sister on the phone as soon as she's put my nephew to bed! Once DH is home we'll watch 24 from last night and I'll have an early night I think - didn't sleep well last night.

sexy - how did it go today? Haven't read back so you may've already posted - will go and check.
