Spring is definitely on the way serena - the crocuses are starting to flower in my front garden.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Serena, I have cylclamen in flower, a witch hazel and a couple of hellebores -lovely to watch. I must get the wisteria trimmed back to a finger tomorrow, and have a go at some air layering for a wisteria bonsai! The snowdrops are on there way up too.

The book thing was a stone cold sober decision. I have three shelves of cook books for example of which I use maybe a third. DH thinks I am mad though and is NOT joining in :roll eyes: What I willl not get rid of is things like the Georgette Heyers, Patricia Wentowrth, Alllinghams, Marshes, etc. Just the stuff I have flicked through once.

I will, I will, I will. Just need to read them once more first. Do you know I once had a first edition of Villette? (hyper ventilates) Dear, dear Lucy Sharp.

    flippin' heck!

The brass neck of some folk.
Popped to town. Selected sympathy card, paid, spotted cards at 10 for a £1 so was choosing ten when I felt my bag move...looked down to see purse heading away from bag in hand of 'lady' standing next to me! Shouted 'get off' purse drops bag into my bag AND THEY CARRIED ON LOOKING AT CARDS. Shouted at them; then alerted the store staff to their nefarious activities. 'Ladies' pursued by Card factory staff (who was, luckily, joined by another colleague as the 'ladies' split up! . 'Ladies' caught and arrested with other purses on them! Was joined by another customer who had caught them UNZIPPING her bag just moments earlier!
    Blimey, the cheek!

DH must be in shock, he actually suggested we go to church tomorrow!

eta we have snowdrops and primroses

:hello:Hi sexymouse!! You have crocuses out? I am so jealous!! I meant to email you this week, but it has been stupidly busy, and I am really tired. I am delighted that you have handed in your resignation, can't believe the Head doesn't know the resignation dates, everyone who teaches knows them!

pigpen, so she's a fairly common WIL? Most are WILs not MILs......mine has been on the phone to DP, asking what he wants for his birthday I think his response was 'same as what you got me for Christmas, **** all' oh dear.

She's ok mostly.. but the mouth is running on overdrive which is amusing me immensely at the moment.. so far we have had suggestions of bigamy *giggle* illegitimate children and being cut out of the grandmothers will... I'm in my element.. all these thing to 'discuss' when she is being normal again..

Is there therapy for 'evil streaks' ??

OH wants to smash her in the mouth I think lol

jinky What is wrong with the other 1/4 battenburg.. get it necked love... Mana from heaven is battenburg

    Afternoon

    Party over for another year.

Valli - that is truly shocking, well done you.

Need to clear up the kitchen from the party tea and find my list. Think I'll have a relaxing evening soaking my feet.

    FISHWIFE?
    I so did not...
except I bumped into a schoolfriend in Morrisons afterwards (and bear in mind I left school before M. Thatcher took office) and SHE said - 'that'd be loud then' when I was telling her hte tale:o:o:o:o:o:o maybe they'll send a hunky, single copper round to take my statement. *lives in hope;)*

bit of Karma I think - my mum had hers snatched once. Not nice.

    and Pooh please complain...

  • We have friends coming for dinner :j:j:j DH is slow roasting the last of our HG pig, with roast potatoes and roasted HG roots.

I've made tiramisu, HG apple and damson betty, and a cheese board :D

This is flying related, as I've been able to relax and cook today, rather than being blue-a$$ed fly frantically clenaing and tidying, so thanks to one and all :A

Off for a bath and make myself look beauificious :)
