  • hiya everybody I was talking to a guy at Foam Wizards Ltd
search for foam wizards in google, and he said the shop/manufacturers used Fiber because it is a 1/4 to 1/2 of the price of Foam Seats, Foam Wizards used to do fibers and he said the life of some fibers is only 6 months, also there are different grades of fibre from dirty, B Grade right upto the best. Foam Wizards used to sell fiber seats and guarantee wise 2-4 months if they last that long but this depend on what fiber is used also he did say 2-4 is how long they will stay plump before it starts looking out of shape and flat.

also most of the suite DFS sell made by Ultra Furniture Pensnett, West Midlands, and Foam Wizards knows who supply's them foam and fibers and DFS tell there supplier how much they are going to pay and the supplier has to make the suites for that price........

any way Foam Wizards was so helpful they have done my cushions and they are better now then when I bought the suite.

Just thought I'd add my DFS woes to this thread as my sofas are the worst purchase I have ever made!

I had my two 4 seater sofas delivered at the e d of October, one had a hole underneath so I phoned the store who sent someone out to mend it (glued a patch over it). By Christmas they had both developed nasty squeaks so I called the store and they sent someone to look at them, surprisingly the sofa with the quietest squeak was so badly made that the frame had come apart, the springs were bowed upwards and it had to be taken away for repair. The guy looked extremely embarrassed by the fact that this had happened in such a short space of time and showed me where the screws in the wood had simply fell out. He fixed the squeaking spring on the other sofa by wrapping some padding around it. My sofa was repaired and returned within a week, can't complain about the service. A few weeks on and both sofas are squeaking again whenever you slightly move on them. The cushions are failing in the same way other people have mentioned and no amount of plumping will rectify it (plump it up, and within half an hour it's sagged where your bottom is and is really uncomfortable) also they look awful when you get up, like old worn out sofas. I'm sure that DFS will send someone out again to sort the springs out, but I fear that this is going to happen over and over again. I can't afford to keep having to take time off work to wait in for a repair man to come out. Surely these sofas aren't fit for purpose if they keep breaking after a few hours use each night? (we have no kids using them as trampolines either).

Does anyone have any advice as to how I should tackle this, as they are prepared to repair them, but this is becoming a joke with it now being the fourth repair in five months!!!
 newbie and loving it!
