Gurantee on sofa cushions DFS

Hiya
Bought a sofa from DFS last year around June it got delivered. We''re paying for it on the 0% finance.
Now phoned them today to ask about some replacement cushions, Basically what it is the seat cushions that you actually sit on are losing their shape and comfort alot. I mean its been gettin worse and worse but now to the point where im hating my sofa (the one i havent even paid for yet)
I have a 4 seater and a 2 seater. Its the 4 seater that has the problems the 2 seater is great.
DFS said the cushions themselves aren't under a warrenty due to the fact they are hollow fibre ones. Now i remember asking when we was getting the sofa do they come with gaurantee for them not losing shape etc etc they obviously said yes but i guess this is no good just verbally?
I'm just really annoyed coz it isnt even a year old and it wasnt one of the ones that is in the never ending sale either. Although i've noticed my particular sofa isn't on their website anymore for sale.
Is there anything i can do? or anyone i can contact for help or info on the matter?
Many thanks in advance
Kelly

You may be able to claim for a repair, replacement or refund (their choice) under the sale of goods act 1979. Under this, goods should be of "satisfactory quality" and be "durable". It is a legal requirement for any business to comply with this.
To start your claim, speak to consumer direct and get them to share all the info on SOGA and provide letter templates (send everything recorded signed for).
You may be asked by them to prove the cushions are faulty which at this point in time (more than 6 months after purchase) they are allowed to do. You can prove the fault by paying an upholster or the likes to provide a report and determine whether or not the cushions are faulty. If they are then produce the report to the retailer also with a receipt for the report and claim back the cost of the report. IF they still refuse go to small claims court which again consumer direct will aid you with.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Hiya,
I have recently had the same problem with my sofa which is 12 weeks old. They sent someone out to inspect it. He showed me how to plump all the cushions up properly - takes a lot of effort!!!! He also mentioned that after 12months they would consider putting more filling into them as hollow fibre ones need more care blah blah blah... tell them that you were told they were covered under the guarantee, and if they still dont do anything then have a look at the sales of goods act to see if anything covers you?0 -
Thanks for all your reply's.
When my partner first phoned DFS when they said those cushions weren't covered he told us that with the hollow fibre ones we have to take them out the covers and literlly pull at them, (as if your seperating candy floss etc) but since doing that they are abit 'plumper' but its not even and they are all mishapen now.
I will follow all the advice above and hopefully get somewhere0 -

Where did you find this on their website? Im having trouble locating this text0 -
I got a DFS leather sofa about 5 years ago and I notice that it sags a lot more and is not so comfortable as when I first got it.
I also got a latex foam matress about the same time and it has not sagged or lost any of it's original firmness, so I would have thought the answer is to fill the cushions with latex foam rather than hollow fibre.0 -

Optimist has given you the link, but I had put it into my post, if you had clicked on DFS, (in blue as the first word of my post), it would have taken you to the same pageDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
