You can try https://www.bestpetpharmacy.co.uk for Frontline. Never used it myself but it has been recommended.0

Look on you local council website for pest control. Our council does your house for free, I've had it done twice, also use frontline and the injections too if I remember in time!
The first time I called the council in I had already spent around £100 on bug bombs and sprays but to no avail. Second time no messing council in job done. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
When our cat had them, we used a liquid on the back of his neck (can't remember the name) and bought a powder from the vet that you had to brush into the carpets to kill all the eggs etc. They can live in your carpet for 3 years apparently!"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0

I agree, we had to have our first house 'bombed' by the local pest officer after ripping out all the carpets - all within a week of moving in. I seem to remember that the pest officer had to repeat the process twice to break the flea cycle and that we had to vaccate the house for the best part of a day each time.I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
Frontline for all the animals and a vet kem acclaim or a staykill spray for the house from vet - read the instructions carefully but should keep the area clear for up to 1 year in the house.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Using the council is the cheapest option - it cost me about £40. It was far cheaper they buying the various sprays from the vets and they do all the work.
In addition you will find that all other creepy crawlies get it too and the carpets will be protected for another 6months to a year.
I had the house sdone I moved into as the previous owner had dogs and cats and i didn't want my moggies becoming infested. It got rid of the nice flying ants as soon as they entered the house for the whole of that summer!0 -
Once you have used the chemicals to rid your pets and the house of these nasty little beggars, you will need to keep on your guard to stop being re-infested.
I have used rosemary oil on the inside of my dogs collar for years now and (touch wood) she has not contracted them.
Just use a couple of drops sparingly every few weeks. When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
My mum has just had a flea infestation in her carpets ,phoned the council pest control and they came out and were done in 5 mins (no furniture moving just a few squirts of treatment in each room).
Have also frontlined the pets and the fleas have gone now (touch wood) !!
We tried all the carpet sprays etc ,spot on etc. but only the frontline and pest control seems to work ,so you may have to go down the chemical route.Moneysaving? - I cant stop spending because of this site!0 -

that works out more expensive than buying frontline for the cat (£16 for 6 spot-ns or £15 for the spray) and the vetkem acclaim spray for the house (£12 for one tin to treat a 3-bed house) and those will protect both house and pets for at least a year, total cost £280 -

the council use the vetkem acclaim spray which costs £12 a tin, so cheaper to do yourself0
