I take it you do actually know they havent made the corolla for nigh on three years now? That would kind of call into questions your knowledge of the market would it not?

I am well aware of that, the Auris ( horrible name ) is just a Corolla with a different name.

No reviewer is ever independent in my opinion.

Loving your 'all the evidence is against my stance therefore i refute all the evidence' approach!! :rotfl:

I take it then, if you dont accept ANY reviews on the Focus being better than the Auris and in fact you dont accept ANY car reviews at all, then given you believe the Auris to be better than the Focus, you've driven both and are actually comparing them based on first hand driving experience?

If so, what were your findings on key indicators such as handling, economy, driveability, comfort, equipment, residuals, safety etc and how did you decide on how to rate those outcomes to give you an overall judgement?

No, like you, I was just making a personal opinion, there is no best car, nor is there any unbiased reviews.

Given the choice of a Toyota Auris or a Ford Focus, I would buy the Toyota.

Well, given the wealth of independent evidence out there - and in fact buying behaviour of buyers (given the Focus vastly outsells the Auris) you'd be buying the inferior car.

Its also amusing that you havent yet said you've driven either let alone both, on which to make that comparison, so its effectively based on an emotional decision plucked out of the air - "I once heard that Toyotas are very reliable therefore i will ignore all other evidence and promote the Toyota as the better car". Loving it! :rotfl:

But hey, as you say, thats your personal choice to make.

Only in the UK, not worldwide, so your argument falls flat.

Mark 5 Golf TDI 4 doors variant.

Bigger than the clio with excellent mpg and all around solid reviews.

Classic - picking out one tiny point you can twist around, rather than responding to the real questions - you should be a politician!

"1% of your arguement is not 100% correct, therefore i'm refuting ALL of your arguement as being wrong"

And are we not in the uk?

I'm not sure the buying habits of people in india for example are relevant? Can you explain how they are? Why is it important here in the UK to rate a car highly because its the number one seller in say, South Africa? Or that its an aspirational vehicle in Russia? Why does that make it a better car for us here in the UK?

    +1

Mk 6s are *nearly* in budget too. But the mk 5 is a cracking car. Allegedly.

Council - "Please do not walk on frozen lakes as the ice may be thin"

Inactive - "there are lakes in other parts of the world that have ice four foot thick therefore your argument falls flat - i WILL walk on the ice" ARGGGHHH!

Look, if you prefer a Ford Focus repmobile to a Toyota Auris, that is fine by me, I prefer the Toyota.

There is no " best car ".. neither of them is a bad car.
