if it makes you feel any better Jojo - my eldest daughter was good at manipulation but she pulled one too many when she was five! we were in woolworths and she wanted this toy - and i just didnt have the money....so told her no.......anyway she stood there and cried silent tears (a fave tactic of hers - she just looked so pathetic) this elderly lady stopped and asked her what the matter was - the little !!!!!! said ' mammies so mean to me, she hits me and locks me in the cupboard and now she wont buy me 'barbie ....' ' would you adopt me please???????????' by now i am hysterical laughing........and the lady said ' oh no dear, I am much worse - I would feed you to the wolves' !!!! I nearly wet myself! and my daughter was silent all the way home then said - I didnt mean it mammy i love you really!' wish i could find that old lady and send her to sort your daughter out!0

I tended to go t a lot of local gigs when i was 16, so the curfew was to be home by 12am at the latest.
Think my sister has more leanency though, as she does 5 days a week dinner-ladying at 6th form and works the weekend in boots. So she's allowed to go out on school nights whereas i wasn't.
If you think she's mature enough to be out later then maybe come to a compromise, such as its ok as long as you know where she is, and maybe that she could check in if plans change or something?
Once i was 18 my parents washed their hands of me so to speak. Their attitude then was that i was an adult and i could do what i liked (within reason). I think that helped prepare me for uni. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
