Totally agree with custardly here. So many items are going missing from recycle bins in our area, we've been told not to do it now, without written consent from customer. There is also pressure on the packet delivery drivers to get rid of as many packets as they can, even if this means leaving items with neighbours. I certainly would hate that, unless it was the old man next door, who's the only one i would trust around here

Aye they have been talking bout it for a while, but while we're 5 duties down they can't implement it atm. We're one of the few offices who are starbursting this amount of duties. The other offices in the area are doing 1 or 2 duties. We got 5. Each one taking around 30 - 45 minutes only time of your delivery. So park and loop wouldn't work until they get rid of this.

Don't think they will be able to implement it until the talks are over now, will they?

I think this is out of order, i also live in a rural area and my postie leaves any large parcels in my grey bin for me, he dosn't sign anything for me though but i wish he was allowed, would save me alot of hassle. Ive had recordeds go missing in the sorting office before, took them 2 weeks for find them! or let me know they've been found. The posties round my way do an excellant job, my next door neighbour is an 92 yr old! he gets alot of mail from his son in australia that needs signing for but he physically can't sign for them so my postie does it, what would the poor guy do if he didn't i dont know. I think they should be able to use there descretion.

Just a point really but if signing for something is such a burden why doesn't the son just send everything standard post and help out his father that way?

RD is just normal mail with a signature (it doesn't get treated any different) so it has as much chance of going missing as any normal mail

I know it doesn't make much difference to the discussion but the postie didn't sign for a parcel he was delivering. He happened to be delivering for RM when a 'parcel firm' arrived and wanted a signature.

Aye custardly it is coming. But we gotta do everything we can to postpone it.

Cyberbob - Recorded deliveries are treated with normal mail when it comes to deliveries. When they are red carded, they also get scanned back into the office. In our office they are kept separate from all the other packets. Can't say the same for other offices though :)

I've actually just about had enough of RM and their ways tbh. If I could find another job where the hours suited my home life i'd be off like a shot :)

If that is the case then I think it does look bad for the postie.
