Ah, memories :-P
I used Norton for a while when I had a PC and it can certainly get in the way. My solution was to buy a Mac0 -

I have norton 360, and it's less than convincing. It allows the odd phishing website to pass its 'security'. The addition of Rapport gives me some added protection on sites where I use my card, bank and personal details regularly. And once my Norton 360 subscription expires, I'm looking for something better.0 -
I sent them a secure message asking if they feel a customer must have the software and if it is a pre-requisite for having a bank account with FD.
After giving me a FD detailed analysis on why they feel the software is good and linking me to the site (but also telling me not to download anything from the site, but only to download from a link FD will send me!!!), they said that the T&Cs of FD banking will change to say that you must have the software to bank with them!!0 -

It'll be their way out of covering fraudulent use on your account in the future!!!0 -

I downloaded and installed Rapport from NatWest who I bank with online. I have had it for some time now. I am happy with the software and have added several other online accounts to protect them too.
I have been happy that the software has had virtually no impact on my computer memory or processor. It complements anti-malware protection products and can be used alongside them. I run it alongside Kaspersky Internet Security and have had no problems.0 -
I need to be able to bank from work, and we can't install any software there. Also, the blog linked to by CottagerSee also this review, apart from threads/links mentioned above:

Is this plug-in really that bad??
It shouldn't take up too much resource and if working properly should only be active for the duration of the session with IB.0
