My Airmiles card (Lloyds credit card) application has been under consideration for more than a week now. They did ask for a proof of ID, which I've provided, but not a peep from them since. Hope they haven't forgotten about me.

    What's a "Super Approval" ??

Where a creditor approves you for a line of credit based on your history with them so far and the data on your application form alone, without the need to run an external credit check with the likes of Experian / Equifax.

    Essentially a pre-approval.

I applied for the airmiles card very late Thursday night. I have a few lat payments from 06 on a Barclaycard and did go over the £50 limit on my Lloyds Current account in early 08, although this was an oversight and there was plenty in my main current account.

The BC was closed in 06 and the only credit I have had other than that is mobile phone.

My experian score is low 500's and 2 star so I was not 100% confident, however it has just shown on my internet banking with £5500 limit. :-)

I applied on the airmiles site to take advantage of the 1500 miles offer.

  • When I login to my Lloyds TSB online banking I got the following under 'Offers':

Advance Credit Card See all of your account balances in the same place. 11.9% APR Typical variable

You may be eligible to receive the following credit limit on a Lloyds TSB Credit Card: £1,800.00

Is this a super approval ??

Well we have a joint account so there is about £2500 going through each month.

The card is only for the odd work expenses so didnt need so high really.

Yes it is, I got exactly the same but for a £1k limit. I applied, the credit card showed in my account the next day and today I got my PIN number. So all in all very quick so far!

I still haven't found out if Lloyds run a credit check on these "offers" when you go for them :(

"My Offers" shows on the main page of you're internet banking. You won't always have offers but will notice that they will add things from time to time, like card, home insurance and loans etc x
