One of our fellow members was "Super Accepted" for a Lloyds TSB Advance in their online banking, but it still said give us a couple of days - a day or two later it was in their online banking...

It was obviously pre-approved as Lloyds had already decided the credit limit (£1000) before they applied.

Not necessarily - it just means they'll consult Experian to help them make the decision.

If you have a decent credit history I don't see there being a problem; unless you use your overdraft a lot with Lloyds in which case you'll have a high risk score, doesn't mean you'll get declined, just means they'll be stricter when scoring you on the rest of the information they get. (Application form, Experian).

Whats your credit history like anyway?

    ok will do, x
  • I had it showing that I was eligible under the 'Preapproved offers' in Online Banking, went down to the branch for something else and they told me the same, done it in the branch and when I came back home and checked online banking the account was already open and showing with a £2000 limit !, so it was really fast and cards and PINS about a week later but that was after the Current Account had been open for 13 months, about a week after I opened the Current Account originally (Oct 2008) I done it online and got the same responce as you, and sadly (Not that I am saying this will happen to you) I got the thanks but no thanks letter in a few days !.

So it seems that if you can wait for them to Preapproved you then its better.

gettingthere28 - the second time, when you actually got the card, did you see if they searched your Experian report, or was it a "Super Approval"?? :o

Hi, There was no search done as far as I could see, although they do now report the account to the CRA's, it just appeared one day on Internet Banking under offers and later on that day I was at the branch and mentioned it and they could see it to, from both Internet Banking and online it showed an offered limit of £2000 and a choice of cards, it also showed in the branch as 'Offer £1500 Overdraft' which I never took.
