Get someone off here to win the item then agree 'not to complete'... as it were.

Couldnt resist asking...did you manage to win it?0

Hi yes i won it then cancelled the transaction. Soolin thanks for your advice there but if ebay had given me an option to fix the mistake i wouldnt have had to have done it, to be honest id rather it was suspended than sell at such a big loss, people make mistakes and it was my last option. It has been done now and everything is fine, the transactions cancelled. TBH I was selling on my OH's account and bid for it on my personal account ( so both different names) If it came to it with ebay i could say he listed by mistake and i didnt want to sell it. Thanks for everyone who genuinely helped though!!LBM 1.11.09

Giving out the item number is not exchanging personal info.
It is when they use ebay and get the other persons contact details, name and address plus phone number.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ebay did give you the option. Up to 12 hours before the auction ended. Its just that you didn't check your auction properly (why did it take you so long to notice?). So as you said it was your own fault. If sellers were able to cancel auctions up to the last few minutes everyone would be cancelling them when they didn't reach the price they wanted. That would just !!!! off bidders so ebay would end up with far fewer customers.0 -

Which bit of 'you must not shill bid' do you need explaining again?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
