Another NSD yesterday as I was at work. Took chicken, beetroot and spinach pasta for lunch (cold), actually it was yummy.
The kitchen at this new job is up 3 flights of stairs so bought a bottle of water today 60p, now have the bottle to refill as can't keep going to the kitchen. Took ham and tomato sarnies today and fruit.
Got my free goodies from A*bel and C*le today - 1 organic chicken, 1 lamb shank, 1 pork and stuffing shoulder joint, leeks, bananas, skimmed milk, 1 pack of braised venison. They were doing a deal - spend £15 a week for 4 weeks and they will credit your account with £50.00. So now I am spending the £50. Still have some left over for next week. It isn't really cheating is it

Keep up the good work everyone. Even those of you who are going over are still keeping to the challenge. Maybe there will be months that are better and it will all even out. This challenge is certainly making me think hard about what I am spending and what I am spending it on!

Hope you are not having too many sleepless nights ragz.
  • Not been posting for a few days - just caught up with all posts now! NSD today and yesterday. Spent some money the day before, but can't remember how much, so i'll have to find the receipt for that! Only 5 days left of my Feb, so here's hoping I make it for the first time ever!!
    PG x
Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100
Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending

When its coming up towards the end of this month peeps will begin to post their March figures and then a new March thread will be started to post in.

Lots of us end the month on different days so it usually takes a few days for everyone to be on the next month and both threads will probably run for a while.

I know what you mean about wanting to get started though, i`m terrible lol. Try and do a meal plan for each day, i find that helps.

  • Day off today,WM on,DW emptied,bread rising,house clean(ish),so a pottering day today-unless ....well there we are.

Just a thought, does anyone else read the blog from Oz by Rhonda Jean, down---to---earth?
Lot of sound thoughts on simple living, including using old cloths/rags in the house instead of kitchen roll etc..
(there is even a thread from peeps who use them for EVERYTHING:D)
I haven't bought kitchen rolls for years-certainly buy toilet rolls tho':)
Its one way of saving a bit more money and storage space, keep a big bag of reusable rags in the kitchen, sling in WM after each use until really worn out.

    See you all

  • Still spending! £8.77 today.

Bread, milk, marg and fruit I needed.
Frozen peas I hate buying as they are so expensive but I can use them in a few meals this week.
I bought myself a cheap yoghurt for breakfast and some cream to put in the curry for tea and that is it!
Anyway, my average left now is £4.88 a day - still not bad but shrinking by the day! I had hoped for a bit spare in my GC as I have already spent all my Feb general/other/whatever fund. I think I will go over in Feb but not as much as in Jan so I suppose that's progress!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
  • Plans changed a bit here my nieces and nephew have come to stay a few days so bang goes the menu plan were now cooking for 7 instead of 4.lol
And just discovered that my adult niece is coming next week too, clever planning needed if i want to come in under budget me thinks.
Off to approved foods tomorrow to see what they have in.
    Grocery challenge Jan 270.27/200:eek:

    Total debt 04/01/2011 £2671.23:eek:
