today i failed! while dd shone...
after planning our day, dd suggested taking some sandwiches to munch on, i suggested a visit to mcdonalds!?
so, £9.65 on food we needed at mr t(storecupboard plus fruit), including some rubbish vanilla tealights (30 for 3£, need to get to ikea soon), and £6.28 on tea out.
have recaluculated my daily spend allowance to come in on budget, doable if i'll leave stuff i don't need on the shelves...nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.

£10 spend this evening in co op but did get £5 worth of reduced bread for 80p - and it's dh's favourite. £3.25 on bottle of white wine for the chicken in white wine sauce, which was yummy. Made up a recipe in the end... based on suggestions from here.
Cooked a leek with some butter, added chopped mushrooms, seasoned with garlic granules and white pepper and salt, then added flour. Half a cup of wine, bubbled off then added double cream and wholegrain mustard, load of roast chicken and thinned the sauce with milk. Served with rice (which I seem to have loads of in the cupboard?)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Any ideas how to spend the remaining of my budget to last the week we have left. I already have enough nappies/wipes/baby milk/toiletries/cleaning products - so it will just be food we need. It is for a family of 5 so think this will be a very difficult one.0

It's the last shop of the month for me tomorrow and I really need to keep it small. I will be over budget but I do have plenty of meat, fish and veggie stuff in the freezer so it should just be mainly fresh bits and pieces I hope.
I'd love it to be £30 or less so will have to write a stringent list and stick to it!0 -
Well I'm £15 over budget
On the other hand, that's still about £120 less than I spent last month
And sainsbug had 240 pg tips for £3 which is our tea of choice
May need to get a bit more milk and some nanas next week but other than that, think we're ok till payday on 24th.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Plenty NSD's for me, this is my 4th week of being ill
Have had to get OH to take me to T's once a week just to get out of the house. Can just about manage if i take a few painkillers
So spend to date is £166.78 and i have one more shop to do this weekend. Have a list on mysupermarket costing around £30 ish so will be over my budget but thats because i spent far too much stocking up the freezer at the begining of the month with the £10 off a £50 spend in M&S AND spent £65 in T's in the same week. But there is still plenty left in the freezer to carry forward to next month and i have still spent less than i used to so i am really pleased

Popped on to update sig and declare for Feb £213.40- £43.40 over - boo, but I did stock up on loads from Costco for cleaning etc plus between my underspend in Jan and overspend in Feb I've almost broken even! Looking back over Feb spends,I realise I've done more "popping in for a few bits" than I realised - that is such a killer!
My March starts today, so I'm going to make it a generous £250 for this month as I need to stock up my mince, chicken and stew supplies which I will do tomorrow. That will keep us going for a good few weeks and I am determined to come in under budget!
Have a lovely day everyone!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Morning all!
Not doing to bad, spent only a couple of pounds this week on Spread, Biscuits, Milk and Oats. I am a bit over where I would like to be in my annual budget, but I am hoping that I can sort that out as I go along. Hoping to nip into c*-*p a bit later to pick up some coffee that's on offer and maybe a couple of other bits (need to watch myself though) Managed 4 NSDs this week:j

Afternoon all
Just a quick update on the spends, have now done the shopping for this next week and for me it's week 3 of 4 and I still have some budget left! It will be tight but it is do-able - I have spent more today than I'd planned but there were several offers that were too good to miss, have also been spending a little more so I can cook HM bits for the pack-ups - I'm enjoying my time in the kitchen again and the family are loving the HM bits - so it's a win win situation! It doesn't really take me that long either have done it for the last 3 weeks and I've generally got to Wednesday night/Thursday before we have nothing left. Have menu planned for next week and am trying a new recipe next Friday as we need seem to be eating alot of the same things week in week out and it's getting a bit repetitive.
Have a good weekend everyone, keep safe and well.

Another spend yesterday and Tuesday...forgot some ingredients for an oxtail stew and then bought some supplies for the weekend yesterday - I have guests from tonight til next Thursday. I've realised I've forgotten stuff though, so I'll have to pop out later again!!
It's disorganisation on my part. I write a list and promptly lose it as soon as I'm in the supermarketFebruary GC £150/£137.84:A
