Didn't realise this thread had started already.... Can you please put LoopyChriss down for £200 for February Mrs M? Thank you.
Spent £120.39 out of £200 for January, but it was the first time I'd budgeted like this, and wasn't a normal month in that I had loads of food in freezer and cupboards from Christmas. Plus I didn't go shopping as much because of the snow. February will be the testing time because hubby comes shopping with me and is prone to just pick things off the shelf without looking at the price, also for putting little extras in the trolley! Might need to have some 'me' time and go shopping on my own!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Spent another £2.47 in A this afternoon. Went in for some natural yoghurt as a freecycler has given me a huge pile of recipes, and i have found a lovely-looking chocolate cake I'd like to try! Clearly I started in the sweet section, hence my massive hips!!
I have a question - what is the most time-efficient way to make breadcrumbs? I've decided to crumb all my leftover, past its best stuff, and freeze until I have enough for the meatloaf recipe. However, it's quite time consuming!! I've been grating it, which is also quite messy - would be a shame if i had to buy another gadget!!!
Thanks,
PG x

Hiya, could you put me down for £160 for Feb please.
I am very new to this so in order to succeed I have given my sis my cc's to take home with her. Have drawn out £40 from the ATM when I got home put the debit card in a water proof bag, then in a bowl of water then placed it in the freezer!! I'll take it out to de-frost on Sat evening so I can do the whole thing over again on Sunday next.:D
I worked out my total debt today £10,436:eek:I knew it was going to be bad but didnt think it was this bad.
My lightbulb moment can after a couple of sad things happend to other people in fairly quick succession. My sis was made redundant then a lady I used to work with had to leave and get a full time job due to her familys debts. She is in her late late 60's.
Although I'm in a reasonably 'safe' job, I realised that my monthly min payments on my credit cards was more than I would get on job seekers. When I get to 67 (should that read if!!) I dont want to be still having to work full time. If I want to that seems a different thing to me.
Sorry I'm rambling, it will be a long journey but if I dont get a grip on my spending and start to pay off my debts now I can move to become debt free even if its away off.0 -
Hi peedie, good luck with the challenge. That's a very unique way of dealing with your card use! Good for you.
I'm starting Feb tomorrow. Have a fair bit in, so will be menu planning like mad. I need stuff for the boy's ackups tomorrow, but am resisting the pull of Mr T late night shopping. Cold sausage sandwiches will be the order of the day, I think!
See you all tomorrow!

Evening all,
just popping on to do my daily ish post-keeps me focussed.
Working today till 1pm and too tired to be bothered shopping, dont need anything anyway!
I am counting the days till tues/wed when apparently my Jan salary will be paid! Im not holding out much hope though, will believe it when i see it! Blooming payroll etc.
NSD today on groceries then, have enough bread in the freezer for ages and milk in the fridge for about a week, but we do get through tons of milk.
I am expecting nsd on groceries tommorow, am off work mon and tues and i would normally take dd for a walk round town in her buggy but i have no money spare so doesnt seem much point looking at things i literally cant afford! I am going to visit my friend who is in hospital, have hidden spots i will park in to avoid car parking charge so hopefully nsd overall!
King prawn stir fry tommorow with frozen prawns. All meal planned for next three weeks or thereabouts working around my shifts and using all freezer and storecupboard stuff:) so should hopefully come in under again
Good night x0 -
