For the february grocery challenge I would like to declare £340 out of a £330 budget
, so just £10 over. This month we had a birthday meal and special valentines meal too, without that, I would have been well under budget!
Can you put me down for £330 again for march please? We have no parties or special occasions this month, so we will hopefully make it under budget.
Thank you muchly!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Not daring to declare for Feb yet...plan on making the last three days NSDs, but don't want to tempt fate!
Mrs M, please put me down for £350 in March.
Though this could well need revising if DS2 gets picked for Scotland U17s - 3 weekends up in Scotland for him if he's in the squad...and whichever parent is lucky/mad enough to take him (7 hours journey EACH WAY !!!!). We should get travelling expenses...but I can see money just disappearing! We may well investigate the trains...:D:D
Right off to give the bread its second kneading...then walking dog.
It's a lovely day here - honest, even the sun is shining!:)

Well my month has all but finished now, and I can declare my total for the month to be £385.39 - £44.61 under budget! Although I had allowed a little flexibility, that's stil £154 less than I spent in January :j:j
So taking things nice and easy, I think I'll set £400 for March please. The 2012 mantra - "A place for everything, and everything in it's place"0 -
Just pushed myself over budget by a few quid as I saw a great bargain in my parents' corner shop (not their shop lol) - 400g really nice ham for £2.09, less than half what I pay for worse stuff in tesco, so I bought 2 packs. Will do DH's lunches and a dinner so worth the overspend.
Weekend will be weekly shop, which is in next month's budget so I am declaring myself over by £1.50 at £351.50/£350
March £370 please as it's a longer month but I'll be trying to use up storecupboard and freezer stuff as we're moving in April.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hi MrsM can you please add me for £375 for March.
I have a 5 week month and am going to split the £375 into smaller bits and aim for £50 a week (£250) then another £50 for wipes, nappies and loo roll for the month (£300) and the additional £75 is going to be left for those weeks when we go over due to special deals and food for birthday/mothers day etc. Am really hoping we come in under budget and hoping even more that we dont even touch the £75 (wishful thinking!).
I am also going to try really really hard on getting the "extras" budget teeny tiny as we spent far too much last month on the little things which added up to HUGE amounts that we really didnt need to spend at all.
Going to try and save as much as possible in March and trying new things to bring our budget down like shopping in different places and not bulk buying as much as normal so we dont pay for something which is not going to be used until 2 months time etc.
Good luck everyone :beer:2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Hi everyone - Still a couple of days until I finally declare for February. I don't seem to be on your monthly list MrsM but have done quite well so far this month as haven't had to buy cat food. He is on a 'special' diet due to diabetes. Also got my £50 back from th A*el & C*le deal. However will lower my budget to £160 for March and just work at it. Have had quite a few NSD and am pleased but getting a bit of cabin fever staying in - as I actually like wandering around the shops.
Thanks to all your suggestions and tips - it has been great being on this challenge. Good Luck to everyone for March.

Hi everyone,
I would like to declare £122.70 for February (against a £150 target) :j, and set my target for March at £150 again.
Since joining the grocery challenge in December, I have managed to stay within my £150 target, without too much difficulty and assuming that I can do the same again in March, I will reduce the target for April.0 -
Declaring for February at £349.64 which is £29.64 over budget. I started shopping at Asda online halfway through the month & this has definitely had an impact on the budget. I am on a course now for women returners to work and don't have as much time to shop at Netto, Asda, Home Bargains and various other shops and Asda seemed the cheapest overall
Mrs M. Please put me down for £360 for March please.
That works out at £90 a week and I'm happy with that as a comfortable level :T
