It's not going to harm your PC getting Grokster off it...just that you would need to delete some registry keys and that can make a mess if you !!!! it up. If you don't get rid of the keys it won't be gone completely. Tells you how to do it here :-

Why use rubbish like that anyway? Filesharing in that way is so dangerous and full of viruses becuase no-one checks the files before you download them...and software and music companies PAY people to upload infected files too. If you want a much safer way I can get you an invite to a members only site where things get checked and reported like they would here.

  • nope tmk...it iwll remove them all, tell you to restart and rescan and should then come up clean.
mine routinely finds that much crap honestly. more if ive downloaded anything since i last scanned....

and according to alliance and leciester you can pick crap up just by visitng a page or reading a scam email even if you dont click on any links etc (i had to prove my pc was clean b4 they would let me reinstate online banking).

ive always found this forum helpful when ive had probs,
    http://forums.techguy.org/

they can read and understand the hijack this log/registry things and suggest what should be or needs removed and whats normal and supposed ot be there. theyre all rather experienced, and if im having major probs i follow their instructioins, get hijack this and give them a log to analyze. its all gobbleldy gook to me hence i dont dare mess with things myself.

and ..over the w/e i checked out the online basics free courses posted about in the freebie forum....theyre marketed at new pc users, and some are very very basic.....but their skills tests caught me out on quite a bit of stuff, not the first one so much , that was carelessness but the next two foudn things i had no clue on and couldnt make an educated guess either.

they can be found here an dimo worth at least a look, if oyu knwo it all great, if not be surprised like i was lol im now reccomending them to everyone. ove only been sat in fornt of a pc daily for 8 years and did think i knew most all the basic stuff anyway. lesson learnt.

wth happened to 9am lol cant believe tis 10:30 already

Restore point ..go to start menu >then accessories> then system tools and it's in there System restore. It's just a click create a restore point in there.

Windows defender may need a new download from microsoft because it's a pretty new version and if it isn't running it may be because it never got downoaded in an update?

There's a demo at the right side there that helps ...not that it's hard to use really.
