Well done wkdhoney!!!!!!!!
I had my WI this morning too, 134.6lbs!!!!!!!! That's 1.7lbs off this week!*does a little dance*
I think giving up chocolate has helped a lot, I realise how much I was eating and it wasn't pretty. So now that I have seen a positive effect I am more motivated to keep it up. I'll do my last WI on Saturday before hols.
:T:T:T well done. isn't it great when you start to see number on the scale getting lower.
snuggles69 - are the portions a decent size? could you not possibly recreate some of the meals yourself? £72 seems a lot to me personally, but if you can afford it then maybe it's worth sticking to.
Still not weighed myself this weekneed to stop avoiding the scales, I need to see what the damage is after my hideous weekend... should've bit the bullet and weighed in on Monday really.

CompletelyLost I haven´t weighed myself either this week but I am going to weigh in on Friday even though I don´t think I´ll have lost any weight- I just hope I haven´t put any on.
I read "French women don´t get fat" a couple of years ago and although I enjoyed it, I didn´t think it had that much advice I didn´t know already. I found the main message was just to eat what you want but in moderation.0 -

The portion sizes are good you can go for either 1200 or 1600 calorie options, I have gone for 1200 and im not hungry at all.
I agree its expensive and I couldnt afford it normally, but I sold some bits on ebay to pay for a months worth. My problem is that I am a single mum to 4 I work full time 7.30am till 6.00pm and what usually makes me fall off the weight loss wagon is I get in from work give the children their dinner then cant be bothered to do anything to me so I just pick....This way every meal is ready for me and I just have to heat it up which is simple no preparation.
At the moment I am at my lowest weight for nearly 20 years, and I just want to keep going so I felt it a worthwhile thing to do, and Im chuffed to bits with the food its lovely!0 -
I was good last night!! No rice with my dinner, and just 1 small glass of wine, feel bloated though, going for a run tomorrow :-)Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Aw yay Bramble, that must have been lovely

hi guys! :hello:
sorry I've been kinda m.i.a since the middle of January, i've had a few upsets, including OH trying to end it (because i'm too fat), stuffed up my wrist playing wii bowling (drunk) which i then made worse by trying to go to the gym and do all my normal weight training anyway  So at the end of January i actually ended up back on my starting weight of 22 stone :mad::mad: I was so angry!!! angry with myself, angry with my GP who still refuses to check my thyroid, angry with my OH who saw the hell i went through on lighterlife (and who saw me finish my first 10k last year). I pretty much wanted to curl up and die.
But instead i got addicted to The Biggest LoserI've watched the show for years, and been a subscriber to Jillian Michaels daily tips for ages, so i went out and bought The Biggest Loser fitness book (with amazon vouchers from bingoport :money:), and started doin all the floor exercises that i could (wrist permitting) which wasn't many if i'm honest, and just walking round the block with my dog.
I calculated my basal metabolic rate: FEMALE: 655 + (4.3 × weight in pounds) + (4.7 × height in inches) − (4.7 × age in years) = 2182. Now, according to the lovely folks at TBL, your BMR in lay-mans terms is how many calories your body uses doing absolutely nothing! Just existing, this is how many calories your body uses to keep things ticking over in neutral.
Therefore if you consume less calories than your BMR figure then you are already in a calories deficit (burning more than you put in). If you exercise on top of that then you increase the deficitwhile building muscle mass that actually increases your resting metabolic rate. YAY!!!
So i got my iphone out, downloaded a free :money:calorie&exercise tracking app, and set my daily consumption for 1800 calories. I did this because i know on an average 45 min walk I burn roughly 300 calories. But i don't always have to time to get a workout in, so by reducing my calorie intake by this much everyday, it's the same as me eating the full amount and doing a 45 min walk. I figured it would atleast give me a head start while my wrist was stopping me from using the crosstrainer (good god those things are weird to use one-handed lol).
Diet-wise they also recommend that you never let your blood sugar levels drop, because if your starving then you'll reach for the bread/crisps etc to keep you going. Instead you have breakfast, 2 hours later you have a snack, 2 hours later you have lunch, 2 hours later you have a snack, 2 hours later you have dinner and finally 2 hours later you have a snack. And do not eat after 7pm, just drink water or chew gum. So for the last two weeks my day has looked like this:
07.30am: Bran Flakes
10.00am: snack (weightwatchers biscuits - anything around 100 calories)
12.30am: Lunch - chicken salad sandwich & fruit
2.30pm: snack (see above)
5.00pm: Dinner (something & salad)
7.00pm: snack (sainsburys own mint choc mini magnum thing)
Well last night i went to the gym for the first time this month, as my wrist finally seemed to be on the mend, and i hopped on the scales and i'd lost 7lbs in two weeks!!!:T
Now i was sceptical of TBL coz i know on the show they get the contestants to burn 7,000 calories a day (3,500 = 1lb) and thats why you see these huge people drop 20lbs a week. But they have 8 hours a day to work out in the gym. So i really didn't know if "the basics" would work in real life without putting in all that time at the gym, but honestly without really trying, and with very little change, it really did work!
So now that i know my wrist was ok last night, just a bit of a twinge this morning, I'm gonna up my exercise and see what else i can shift. And at the start of every month i'm gonna recalculate my BMR using my new lower weight measurements, otherwise as i lose the weight i'll still be living on a fat persons calorie ration, IYSWIM?
I must apologise for the crazy length of this post, but i figured if it helps anyone else on this thread shift an extra pound or two then it's worth sharingplus all the maths & science really brings out the geek in me lol

Well done for getting back on track after all that chaos. glad to hear your wrist's on the mend too, it's funny we don't appreciate things until we have to do things without them (body parts I mean, lol).
Re: the BMR calculation. What is the '655'? Where does that number come from? As I'd like to work mine out0
