Hiya ladies, I've been so busy with other things and the fashion thread seems to have taken over my life recently, I've not really been following you all but well done to al those who are loosing and STS. Better luck next week for anyone not in that category xx
This week I've lost 1 3/4 pounds. I need to check if that takes me anywhere near my 5 pound target, will get back to you in a bit.
*goes to check*
Doh! It was in my signature!! That takes me up to 3 1/2. Hmm not very likely then but I did have a major blip in the middle so not surprising really!

Just calculated my BMR using the formula that Pinkmartin posted and it's only
1368 cals.
This is the issue I had before with not knowing what I should be aiming to eat then to loose weight. People said that 1200 was really low but it's not much less than my BMR if I go by this.
I'm not calorie counting now, I found that counting for a few weeks gave me an appreciation of what I can and can't have much of. I just wondered what I should be aining for?0 -
Well done Vicki
I do sometimes find that eating 1200 cals is a struggle - I can be full up on much less depending on what I cook! I should probably work out my BMR though, see if I'm roughly on track. What I'm doing at the moment seems to be working alright though.0 -
Weighed myself - I'm +llb this week.
Calories are just short of 2000. Have been picking at things all day... just made myself a huge bowl of porridge, now feel absolutely stuffed!
Going to have a little walk and then hoover my room to burn off some of the excess.0 -
There's a calculator here (it's the same as the formula posted before)
The value given from that really is the value for doing absolutely nothing though. After using that you should use the Harris Benedict equation which means multiplying the value by a factor inbetween 1.2 & 1.9 depending on how active you are.
I go for 1.25 (just above the value for sedentary) and then work out the calories for any significant exercise (the half hour walk to uni counts for eg but not popping to the shops/walking between lectures)
Hope that helps someone.0 -

That takes me up to 1641 - seems a little bit more in line with what I thought. I don't expect it covers my Pizza HUt dinnerjust now but hey, it's a whole 7 days until the next weigh in now!
