Any camera experts out there? I'm heading out to take photos of the moon for a business idea I have for later in the year. Wondering what the best settings would be for my Canon EOS 5D.....................

I received an absolutely GORGEOUS memory charm in the post today - thanks so much Moneymabel - it's beautiful and i'm sure my friend will love it. I couldn't believe how fast it came! It's very prettily packaged and looks so dainty. I would recommend everyone has a browse on moneymabel's website - even if you're not after specific wedding jewellery. Mine is for my friend's 30th birthday. There's so much choice and variation and judging by what i received it'll all be well worth the money. Thanks Moneymabel - i'll be back for more x p.s. last year i bought a ring which has a tiny fairy, a couple of little stars and some beads attached - it's tiny and delicate. Made me wonder whether your charms could also be attached to little rings and maybe this could be another expansion of your market - i bought mine for £22 from a gift shop in Exeter & i know they would've made a lot of profit on it. Just a thought x

Aww thanks Em!! I'll pay you later!! Glad you like it- will have to steal your comments to use on my site!
Good idea about the rings, have done something similar before but sizings an issue- can never get them spot on and don't like the adjustable ones.

Re 123-reg fine until you have a problem and then they have the worst customer service I've ever had!

you will need a tripod, a good zoom depending on how closse you want the picture and enough aparature to have the moon in focus id guess at about 9 to start with , then have a play o and a slow shutter speed hense the tripod

I'm sorry if this has been asked already (I have so many pages to catch up on lol), hope someone can still help. I also posted it on Up your income but thought as I'm in this challenege to ask you guys too.
I'm thinking of starting the above business and would appreciate any advice and ideas/pointers in the right direction. I don't have any professional experience in carpet or uplholstery cleaning so if any of you do can you tell me where do I start from?
I looked at some businesses online and they talk about different types of carpets and using different cleaning products, where do I learn about this?
Also which equipment would you recommend?
And of course is it a good way to earn a living?
    Thank you.

Perhaps this website could help - these courses have finished today but i imagine they'll be running more soon. Don't know an awful lot about it though i'm afraid. What's motivating you to go into this?
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

No idea I'm afraid, but I'd guess you'd need to really know what you were doing. Could be a bit embarrassing to shrink someone's Axminster if you didn't! Also you'd need insurance against any damage you did to the carpets, or if you knocked over their expensive ornament, or they fell over your cleaner or something.

    Not much help, am I?

I'd guess something like that would be franchised quite a bit. Have you looked into franchises? They would then train you, advise you on the legalities, etc.
  • Mrs D - Around here there is a company called Chemdry (I think) that do carpets and upholstry, I think they are a franchise though.

My mum had someone, I think he was self-employed,do her bedroom carpet just before xmas and he charge £35 or £40 to do it and she was very happy. He was through word of mouth. He travelled up to a 25 mile radias and she does live in a city.

Hope that helps you a bit.

  • Hi everyone :)
Had an odd day, came back with OH at midday, which was nice. Went shopping for a few bargains for the flat, which we needed, and then I had my eyes tested. Hung around to get the glasses within an hour...OH has treated me to some gorgeous Armani glasses, because I usually live in contacts and they aren't too good for my eyes at the moment.
They are lovely, and it's novel being able to see! So hopefully no more headaches.

We are supposed to be cleaning and tidying (it needs it!) and then I can do some crafting, although again no parcels have turned up, which is an annoyance. I've emailed all the companies, to see what's happening.

So yeah. Hi everyone :) I love those jumper dresses, by the way, I've been looking for a nice one :) When are you getting them?
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • Mrs D Just been on the Chemdry website and the franchise is ..................... £26,950 :eek::eek:

    Good grief!!!!
