  • With the wedding jewellery (I had a peak - gorgeous, i want half of it myself) could you market the less obviously bridal things as general special occassion pieces? Could you set up a Facebook group/fanpage as a bit of free advertising?? Maybe not classy but it could be useful and erm free?!

Think of all the Spring/Summer Brides while your working your @ss off!

Afternoon all, susie-sue reporting for duty!

Blimey, you lot can talk! I logged on to the original post last night before all hell broke loose and I've finally caught up. Will lurk on both threads and post the occasional 'dribble', maybe a question or answer or just a thought.

Almost the end of month 1 - can you believe it?

nikki - yes your course will prove invaluable so keep going. And I vote for buying the table. Will it fit in your car? I take it you have a car? Or do you mean doing it from home?

Yeah I have a car, it would fit I think. Well it will when I take out all the baby stuff and general junk:rotfl: And if it doesn't then ill speak nice to my daddy and borrow his jeep (mse in the way that I keep MY mileage down) - mean I know.

My work has "a learning at work day, wonder if I could get a room then and do massage. Charge a bit less, say £5 (after all I'm using there electricity etc) and strategically place flyers :rotfl:Would probably only do back neck and shoulders as I'm sure people might not want to strip off at work plus full body would be quit time consuming! Oooh the ideas are flowing!

Qualified at spray tanning but it will be a while before I can pay £350 for the fake bake kit :(

moneymabel - i adore your memory charms, they're gorgeous and what a fab concept! I was wondering whether you could expand upon these - linking perhaps with your prom market - and make them into friendship charms. The idea being that if there are a group of four friends, for example, each buys an identical necklace to keep forever comprising of a bead from each person's birthstone. This way as well you'd be looking at selling about four at a time. On that note, i'd like to buy one please for my friend's 30th birthday. There were 5 of us who met at university (covers 4 stones as 2 were born in same month) and i know my friend would love the sentiment behind it, as well as the gorgeous design. I'll work my way through your checkout now x

i too am qualified in reflexology and head massage !

I read a report a few months ago that big businesses were looking into offering massage/head massage or reflexology to employees in break times as a way to reduce stress and sick days.

You could always contact some call centres and see if they would let you set up in a room - either charge customer, or business per day. Or offer 50% to Haiti as a way to get free advertising through the business. Ooh, that sounded harsh - I dont mean use charity as a way of getting money, more as a way of generating initial interest and helping yourself and others at the same time - does that make any sense???

moneymabel - I do remember someone offering parties for the bridal team - they can try on dresses and drink some wine and persue shoe catalogues, get make overs, etc.. I think your jewellery would work well in these settings.

Can you enrol a friend to do the face to face bit? Someone said on the previous thread recognise your weaknesses and use other people to fill in these weak bits and you can then in turn do this for someone else with your strengths.

natnat - well done - you should be proud of yourself

oh oh I worked at a small company and they did this every few months for us. We each got to pick one treatment which lasted about 30 mins each and they paid for it!! It all started in a conversation that one of the girls that we worked with new someone who did this and was looking to expand her business but was finding it a bit difficult and hence it was born from that!!

Hehe, the two year-old likes the emoticons clapping :rotfl:

Yeah it'll be because everyone's waiting to be paid won't it...and can always relist the things...think I'm getting a bit nervous as all my cash is now spent on stock and it just needs to sell. Need to sit on my hands for a bit, only not really as I'll need them for crafting :)

Does anyone have any experience of ordering from wholesalers from china? I'm unsure of the ethics of it too?

Personally am not in this challenge. Feeling very low today after an interview rejection. I always come to MSE for postive/motivation.

Glad to see some people doing very well in this challenge.
No wins yet but you guys are :A

Has anyone any ideas for selling my vinyl LPs. I could put them on ebay but P&P is a bit difficult. I wondered if there was a site like musicmagpie.
Good to see everyone is doing so well.
