Hi folks, see everyone is coping - some better than others!

crystal- i used to dabble in antiques/collectables, i havent done a fair though i rented a cabinet at an antiques centre for a while - would do it again if i had more time. you need a decent outlay to begin with and have to have an idea about prices, and what you are buying. not sure i like the thought of being across the road from an auction house - i used to go to the auction about 40 miles away from where i sold my things.

hales- have you thought about getting templates and making your own boxes as blanks can be expensive.

okay still have 6 pages to catch up on and got a cake in the oven, still to check my ebay but have another £10 to add to my total from the cleaning.

catch up later - am desperate to see how much the shoes go for!!!!

Cakeordeath - I think putting the tassles through the centre of the clock would make it look confusing maybe? Think the adding a couple of cms would be better. Package for you in the post by the way lol :)
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
  • Oohh I found some reduced stuff in Selfridges that is PERFECT for my Easter range :) Got some cheap ribbon, and tags and stuff too. It was a good visit.

Did some Dooyoo, so that's one commitment down, and got paid for the 10 articles I finished Tuesday, so going to try and put that into a savings account for Spain.

Shell - What kind of boxes did you find? Like...boxes I could put things in as very pretty packaging? I contacted suppliers about the frames, I know you've found some anyway but I'll send you the prices when they get back to me for future reference anyway. God knows why they are being so slow!
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:

I thought about having an Ebay shop - don't ask me what I was going to sell - never got that far - I looked at the sellers' forum on Ebay and saw that quite afew people were shutting their ebay shops - it's a committment of around £14 a month - not a lot if you've got a massive turnover - quite a lot if you don't sell anything much for a few months! I'm just biding my time selling a few things for now, just as a private seller.

Mrs Money - I was thinking the same thing and posted such on the ebay forums..... I had about 20 people come back and say to do it..... I am starting with a new seller ID, selling my own private stuff to build up sme feedback/dsr's and then I will change it to business and then a shop. Its £15 a month for a shop but you do get reduced BIN fees so if you are going to list over 75 items a month (don't forget relists!!) then a shop is worth it as over 75 items you will save money on the listing fees..... Don't dismiss it straight away... think about it a bit.... But I would urge you to change to a business account if you are buying stuff to sell on.....

Nice thread. It's not impossible to make 10k by the end of 2010. You need to be motivated and not flustrated. There are many things how you can make a money on Internet. Just need to search good sources.

I have been looking on ebay at studio lighting but my budget doesn't run to that at the moment.... have you any suggestions or should I hang fire, sell some of the kids clothes and invest the funds into some lighting???

    Don't know what to do??!!!

apart from window shopping on ebay, I;ve not managed a lot today, Thursdays are busy running around after the kids with swimming lessons etc!! Tomorrow I am gong to bang BIL's head against the proverbial as he has been self employed for 6 months, hasn't even phoned HMRC or kept any records! Cheeky whatsit wants me to do it all for him.... they have no money to pay me so I will insist on a labour return, make sure he does a few hours helping OH on the extension.

I would much rather be working and listing all these clothes, I have mountains of boxes everywhere!!!

    Evening everyone!

Working on another business idea and want to do a blog, is it as easy as just registering with blogger or someone and typing away? Do you get paid when people read?

Off out to a pre-school commitee meeting in a min so will catch u all tomorrow :)

Blogger is free blogging/hosting - no you don't get paid if someone reads it - but you can sell some stuff from it using a Paypal button or get some (very small) income from Adsense or any other advertising you can find. The big job is getting visitors to your blog.

ohhhhh I love the bookmark!!! I would personally shape it and use the centre of the clock.....to me it makes it different so to speak.

Cake- that drawing is incredible... I hate you!! I can't draw to save my life! r.e.the tassel I like the idea of the shaped end as long as it wouldn't cover up too much of the drawing.

lol thanks!! hmm I suppose I could add a couple of cms and still shape itin the same curve as the clock but have the hole on the blank part.

you might be right, plus the clock is very significant to the town and the shop where I'm hoping to sell them, so they may not be happy with a big hole in the middle of it :D oooh thanks Paula, it'll be like christmas, except this time there'll be something for me!!
