She loves MSE but she's not doing this challenge. I think a few of the people who have joined here (I know that's the case for me) have just decided to "pull their finger out". For example, it's not like it's happened overnight that I have a lot of stuff in my house I could sell, but it's only after being inspired by all the motivated (and motivating) people around here that I decided to do something about it.

I'm also trying to buy stuff cheap to resell for more (there are a couple of things I'm working on at the moment but nothing definite yet) but I don't really think I have any area of expertise so most of the time I don't know if what I'm getting is really a bargain or not! But I'm sure I'll get better as the year goes on!

ok gotcha ;) Don't worry about area of expertise, it will come with your research and trial and error . If you're selling on ebay look at the completed listings and see what sells.. have a read through the first post and joeygrey's links it might spark something off for you.

Don't forget as well to think what applies to you and how you can maximise your own time and skills.. we tend to focus a lot on here on selling on ebay and bingo. (probably its the easiest thing for us all atm ) :D But many are also making money in their "free hours" by making cakes for eg, delivering papers/leaflets, tarot readings, crafts and sewing etc etc.

good luck i'm sure you'll do great and keep on posting here if you get stuck!! :D

LizD - just read shells post, and could you offer a bespoke service - eg, I can make you something in this range to macth to your own requirements....I suppose I mean the difference between buying ready made curtains to buying made to measure. Sp maybe offer a range with a made to measure in matching fabric....

If this has already been suggested I'm sorry I have been skimming a little the last couple of days!

Hmm, I'm not sure about bespoke stuff - I had a dressmaking business for a while (never going back to THAT!) and found that people are so picky. Part of the problem would be in finding fabrics - I would only be able to offer what I had at the time, IYSWIM. Custom sizes would be ok, though, I guess.

AQA aren't employing and haven't been for some time now, and texperts/118 were taken over by an American company, they took on hundreds and then didn't even train or pay them. Theres a huge thread on here somewhere...sucks cuz it would have been perfect for me!

So these jobs are a no go currently?, shame i racing my nuts off to try and make more cash:(

Four years ago I was a school cleaner and through studying, working very hard I am now an adult tutor - love my job - but I am having so much hassle with my wages, that for 3 years it has been one mess after another. Anyway just before xmas it was supposed to be sorted, now I've had an email saying it hasn't been. My advice of the day is never ever work for a County Council if you want to stay sane!!!

    Sorry for rant but arrgghhhh!!

Aw don't give up - keep trying.

You'll could end up losing it all, but then again, could end up getting to £20.

Good luck with it - hope you get your £20. ;)

Custom sizes is what I meant - lol. :j

Basically if you have the same fabric available if, for example Shell, wanted matching curtains for a toy box area, so really unusual size if you could offer that to match an existing range then you have a fantastic USP! Wouldn't have to offer on all rangees all the time, once you ran out of fabric its 'out of stock' on custom sizes....... I hope you understand, I am struggling as lots of noise and distractions here :rotfl:

  • Order didnt arrive ! Then got email from company saying now delivered can I thoroughly check all is there? I checked tracking and it says delivered and gives surname. No one round here is called that name, checked with my landlord, checked with man across road, checked phone book and searched internet - nothing !!!

I have asked company to follow it up and I know delivery driver will remember where he left parcels, but I am panicking tonight.

    Hi

Its with Bingo Britain. Minimum withdrawal is £20, so if you win less than £20, can use roulette to get your winnings up to the £20 ;) or could lose your winnings ! :(
