  • Well, there is a thread devoted to this line of work, but it moves faster than this one, and in truth people get sick of answering the same questions all the time and expect you to have read the whole thread and it can get a bit hair raising.

I can PM you a company and their details. I am a complete prude and I did struggle for the first day but then I just pretended to be Jordan and my potty mouth developed quickly !

I'm lucky starting this challenge having lots of things to sell so no outlay,
I've made £1235.81 ish, nothing clever just selling some collectables, 1 car boot and finding £10.50 from the Summer car boots.

My commitment finishing my book, started ages ago.
Finishing house renovations started ages ago.
Enjoying what I do started ages ago.
Having fun while I do all of the above.:D

    Can i join.
  • munchki - I know you are doing everything possible to secure full time work and I dont know enough about that really to help.

As extras, I think writing may be your skills could be put to good use. I think you could list a service on ebay to create flyers/promotional material. You could sell it by showing you worked the other side and dealt with promo info that came into businesses and therefore know what works and what gets binned. I think you could offer small businesses an attractive package to assist them for the first 2 - 6 months with accounts, design, promotion, marketing, research, negotiating with new suppliers etc...

I also think you could write a very popular blog. You have a natural writing style which is very easy to read and genuinely amusing.

Ebay is a good thought, my concern and from what I have seen, is that there is no way I could afford to sell the service for a 99p. Not looked in a while but did see a lot of that several months ago.

I love the idea of the package and that is what I try and do when I have someone who is not far off from either starting or has been trading less than 4 months. Will give it some more thought but right now with a budget of less than 0 I really do have to be careful

    Really great thoughts, thank you

Jeepers, dont sell for 99p !!!

Do a classified listing so it stays for 28 days I think for about £20. And then throw in some Buy it now packages, and one or two auctions but start high.

They will pay via paypal, so within 5 days you could transfer the cash to your account and use it for starting up. A lot of it might involve little cash just hard work !
