Thank you very much for your reply Mambury. Will get OH onto the cold frame!

Well, I went wondering round Exeter's boot sale today in the snow! Didn't buy much, a lot of people were packing up. Got a couple of books I will read then sell on and a blooming marvellous maternity top for 50p which should have a bit of profit in it.

Eyesparky, so sad to read your post, can't imagine how you're feeling (((hugs))))

Will update my signature tomorrow. Going to start a diet so might put my weight loss on here as motivation, it is kind of money related as if I don't lose weight I'm going to have to buy bigger clothes!!!

Nikki - Please don't shout at me.... my life has just got away with me.

I am behind on my returns, including this year I owe 3 :eek:AAAARG!

The only good news is in the first 2 I didn't actually do any work (due to babies!) and in this latest one (which I had all intentions of doing until my dad had a stroke and I lost alot of time) I have turned over about £900 so I know I don't owe any tax.

My question is do you know if I can submit the old returns online, or do I have to visit my local tax office to sort it out? It is one of thise jobs that is so far behind that I am now putting it off.....

If its self assessment then you can do from 2007/08 online. Anything further back then it needs to be done on paper.

PAYE returns, nil returns can't be done online ALTHOUGH some do manage slip through. Could be easier just to do it on paper though.

Any that have totals on them then you can pretty much do them all online. If you need any technical help with them just let me know :D.

All self assessments. I have submitted online before, so should be ok.

I am aiming that tomorrow I WILL start sorting it all out, hoping I have made it a harder task than it actually is. Do we have a new commitment board yet? If so can we put me down as completing my tax returns by end of the week? (Not that I have completed this weekends tasks.....yet! :))

    Thank you Nikki!!

I've been really pleased with the results of my experiments of last night, and so have scouted around the web for anyone doing anything similar. I've found one website selling a similar product (but not as nice, imho!) and they were charging $25 ish for a pair of earrings! And selling plenty, by the looks of it! I'd have been planning to charge about £4 the pair! Anyway, I'll start at £4 and see how I go - no sense in being greedy and selling nowt. I've bid on a tool on ebay that would make my life a whole lot easier making them, so I'm hoping I'm the only bidder.

Jane, I'm going to do some crochet flowers too! For brooches though - if you want a pattern I found this, although it might be too big http://teaandcrafting.blogspot.com/2009/12/crochet-flower-brooch-pattern.html. I've never met a surrogate before, it must be the most selfless thing you can do for someone else. Do you keep in touch with the babies and families?

i found a pattern on a blog called Attic24 that's probably bigger than the one you have , it would make a fantastic brooch lots of really great crochet ideas on there :) and another pattern for really small ones a bit like stopping after the first round on your pattern but i can;t remeber where i found it , do a google search there are loads !

and Yes , I have great friendships with the couples before i offer to help them and we are such good friends that it wouldn't be right to stop contact . The eldest one is nearly 2 and call's me aunty jane which is lovely . and thankyou you would be amazed some of the not so nice things people say about surrogates.

Earning my £50 this afternoon took me 5 hours instead of the normal 2 due to having another interested party with me and insisting on chatting a lot ! still its still £50 :)

    • supply a wedding dress shop with tiaras/hairpins and have my business cards in there
    • Website that does the same but v little custom so i took it down. Have mega trouble with pictures.
    • Blog for wedding jewellery keep forgetting to update because not sure what to actually say
    • Blog that I post recepies i have created on (possible money maker??)
    • A heap of stuff for ebay but no motivation to list
    • keep threatening to look at the bingo sites but never have time
    Anyone help??

This is a good idea. Make it a priority...play with vista print for free business cards if you need some, you can just pay shipping. I chose the cheapest 21 days shipping when I tested some, they came in just over a week.

Could you use some photos taken in the shop? If not, I think the website is still a good idea. I'm sure there will be people here with hints and tips, and I can find out some links I've been using online? Set yourself a day to get your photos done, one to edit, and then a final day to publish it all online.
    • Blog for wedding jewellery keep forgetting to update because not sure what to actually say
Could you take photos through the making process, without giving too much away? Or look at wedding sites and write about the biggest wedding trends, celebrity weddings, etc? Put adsense on, and link to your own site. This'll generate traffic...submit it to the blog catalogue too.
    • Blog that I post recepies i have created on (possible money maker??)
Same as above, but blogs can take a few months before you see any profit. Personally I'd get the wedding stuff sorted first, then expand with this.
    • A heap of stuff for ebay but no motivation to list
I know how you feel...Could you split it up and list a few every day? It'll be worthwhile in the end!
    • keep threatening to look at the bingo sites but never have time
Bingo is a bit hit and miss, I tend to play at 3am when no one is really around to talk to me, lol. Play if you get bored, or when you have done the above and are out of ideas. It's not a priority, unless you are a bingo addict?
    Anyone help??

That might be completely useless, but I tried! :o

    Ooops, I used red...sorry guys.
Arsenal lost, but I didn't lose the tenner, as it was a first bet. Was so annoyed OH took me for fish and chips...had a proper sulk, haha. Now I'm back to crafting, need to do the site but OH is playing computer games and my laptop won't run photoshop. I will get there!
