Yay ... few more things did sell so my end of Jan total is 462.92. Have reinvested some money so I guess I prob have made more like 600ish which is okay ... seeing the total increase is SOOO incredibly addictive ha!

Can we do the committments board for the whole month of Feb maybe? Like in the month of Feb I am going to? Saves updating every few days anyway?

Because I am going to submit writing to three magazines by end of Feb, knit 4 scarves, cut up the material I have into "patchwork bundles" for online sales, look for stalls early winter-ish, continue with my online research for ideas etc ...

Ohhh ... can't believe over a month has passed already!! Feel like I have built up like a list of facts about everyone lol ... have never been so addicted to a thread before :o

Well I completed my psychotic wall rant.gif, it really helped.

I also did my tree and branches, and now have a list of 24 actions that need to take place before the end of February, ready to market my business in March.
Tree and branches? Is it like what they used to call a brainstorm (but aren't supposed to any more as that refers to a medical condition)?
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Love the commitment board, for me personally though I'd like to be able to do something every few days as otherwise I'll leave it til the end of the month! The patchwork bundles are a great idea :T

for all the gardening enthusiasts was in pound shop yesterday and noticed they had their plants in now - have bought before and they were fine - blackcurrant bushes £1, also i check carnations when i buy them at the supermarket and take cuttings - some i have had over two dozen cuttings (check the stems for extra sprouts/shoots, snap off -dont cut and place in water and they will root after a week or so), to make something a wee bit different use old fachioned tea cups/saucers, teapots, £1 shops usually have galvanised buckets, watering cans, for planters - bit of ivy, some violas/primroses for mothers day, stick a chick, rabbit or whatever and they are now easter - just thinking out loud! while watching Andy Murray - hope he does well today!

I think the brainstorm was more like the psychotic wall lol.

The tree and branches was Jo's suggestion, maybe she'll post it again. I started with where I wanted to end up and worked backwards, drawing little branches, and putting on the branches, what I needed to do to get to the next stage. The end result is a network of things that need to be done to get you to your goal.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

heres the tree and branches post otherwise known as the reverse calendar from the book the now habit by neil fiore.

Emminently you described me to a T !!
Thats why I started reading The Now Habit book that I quoted the other day. Its great because it really helps understand those blocks and how beating yourself up and saying just do it doesn't help but actually makes it harder to get going.
Some great info in there but its hard to take bits in isolation.
However one good tool is the reverse calendar. where you start with the finished task and work backwards with what steps you need. ie you want to open a shop. you put that and then work backwards so steps immediately prior to that might be hire staff, buy stock, and refit shop.
Then take each of those and do the same for each. so for hire staff might be book venue for interviews, write interview questions, invite candidates. then take each of these steps and write what needs to happen immediately before them etc until you kind of have a branch tree or mind map spreading backwards from the competed project to the actions that you can take immediately.
There will be a few different places you can start in all the branches you generate and no one of those is wrong so pick one that feels good and do it. Each bit is like its own mini project and less overwhelming than the whole yet each bit carries you towards the whole.
Anyway, thinking outside the box how about breaking our projects up and for the ones that are suitable do a task swap.
ie I'll research sock suppliers for you if you research carrot suppliers for me.
you plan what needs to be done and I do it for you cos its easier than doing it for me and I plan what needs to be done for my project and you do it cos its easier to do it for me than yourself .
If we did this with some small manageable early stage tasks our projects would both move forward and we might feel more able to take them further.
It wouldn't be a big risk cos we would start with the small tasks and see how it goes.
Or we could start a small group for task swapping /sharing a bit like a LETS skill swap scheme.
    Just a thought.
