Morning all x
Question - when would you take your baby to the out of hours doctor? Daniel has been snotty for a few days but this morning he has thrown up twice, won't eat and all he wants to do is sleep. Have taken his temperature and it's 38.1 have given him some baby nurofen too.
Feel like I'm looking after 2 babies as DH is ill too. I'm tired to as I've been up with Daniel during the night and didn't get my lie in either. Urrghh!!
Nope.. Give him a dose of paracetamol as well as the nurofen and check him again in half an hour.. if he is still over 37.5 start stripping off layers.. and if necessary slop him in the bath for a quick sluice.. a bodysuit and trousers should be more than enough if unwell.. never mind this nonsense of they MuST wear a jumper because it is snowing lol The vomit is likely due to the mucus in his stomach. What do you want to do when you have a cold? not eat and sleep lots?
Mine have been to OOH docs 3 times.. over 8 children and 18 years. 1 was on day 9 of the most horrific tummy bug and was severely dehydrated with a temp of 41'C.. another had measles.. 2 weeks after chickenpox and was 17 weeks old and the other had pneumonia.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Ok, DD has rung, Poppie has had a bit of a bad day. She's ok but they are cons=cerned about her oxygen levels. They've done X-rays etc but nothing has shown up so bloods taken and they will be back in the morning. C r a p p y nurse, but I remember Elle having the same. Seems DD has found her Mummy Tiger (as Weezl put it) and told her to bog off as she knew how to BF on her own. When she tried to wind her across her lap as I suggested yesterday (she's worried about catching the line in her head) the nurse said they didn't do it like that in hospital. Nurse all of 70yrs!
As n sitting on her lap to wind her upright? Thats what we did with all 3 in there, the nurses did it as well. What difference does it make how she is winded? That's what I told her, that she was tired and needed a break. Apparently she was very floppy for a couple of hours, but it was the stoopid nurse that freaked her out, said DD should have noticed a change in her skin colour and how would she manage at home if she couldn't, blinkin moo!!!
I didn't know your DD was a fully trained medical professional :cool:Morning all x

If the temp doesn't go down with nurofen and paracetamol when he has been stripped, I'd call them just for advice. The throwing up is usually a good sighn though, if its all the mucus coming up from his tummy.
and 3 is bad, very, very bad.... I bidded on that uber-cute monsoon twin set0 -
My hubby's in the kitchen getting me some crunchie nut cornflakes... Baby is in the swing parked in front of cbeebies... Aimee's with Nanny until a bit later...
Do I want to go for a carvery for lunch and spend £15 but eat until we're stuffed... Or shall I make chicken rice/pasta with the extra cooked chicken I got from Asda yesterday when they were on offer... More effort... Less money...

I think I'm watching that one -will unwatch :rotfl:
I'm bidding on a purple flowery top and trousers and a purple spotted jacked.
Beenie, I don't want you to feel jumped on, but I agree with the others - it's tempting to remember all the good bits because it's hard for you right now, but you'd be as well remembering the bad bits instead. Do you really want someone so unreliable that he left you to do the last stages of pregnancy and the first stages of Amber's life by yourself?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I remembered Lolly was from Dudley - only because I read her posts in a Dudley accent (in my head).
Sorry Lolly!
I always say Dudley in a Dudley accent.Morning all - actually been up since 7, but haven't had time to post. Glam, sorry Jack is still sleeping oddly - maybe he's not getting enough naps in the day? The last couple days I've started a 'routine' (I know we hate that word, but it's flexible, honest!) with Finn and it's really really helped. Last night he slept 7-6:45 with only 1 feed which he went down straight after! :T :T I've also started dreamfeeding, but he took <1oz of EBM last night, so not sure if it really counts.
Funnily enough I thought this today! He's just had a 90minute nap, am hoping the dream feed will help him again - clutching at straws!
Go Finn for sleeping so long!
Well done on the weight loss Krystal - I had crunchy nut but it was more like soggy nut coz OH didn't tell me he'd put the milk on!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
