SS - I bought some kids suncream from Boots on Saturday, then got home and it said it shouldn't be used on children under 18 months old. I took it back today and swapped it for the baby one (I didn't realise they did the baby one, and hadn't seen it on the shelf on Saturday). It was Boots own brand - Soltan.

Can I ask more questions? :D Do you literally just spoon the wallpaper pasted into the balloon? How much? Does it not weigh the balloons down? Can you see it inside the balloons? :o

BTW, how much RR is left?

Chopsticks: I would suggest you test a bit of the baby soltan on C before you actually want to use it if you know what I mean. Charlie reacted to soltan something terrible, he was scratching his face and burning up. It does have a really good UVA and UVB score on it though (better than BIL's more expensive ambre solaire ha ha ha)

With balloons blow them with air up slightly - so they are just starting to stretch then let the air out. Put about a teaspoon or dessert spoon amount into each one (depending on size of balloon) and then rub the wallpaper paste around in the inside of the balloon. It basically blocks the tiny tiny holes in the balloon to prevents the helium from escaping as quickly. Then Fill the balloon up with helium. Because you've only put a little bit in the balloon andrubbed the paste around you shouldn't see it at all. This is what we did for our weddin balloons and they lasted for ages. We did the balloons on the friday and wedding was on saturday. Most of the balloons were still up when we left at 1am on sunday morning! This was what a balloon shop said to do and thats what they do. That way they can create the big arches, large displays etc ahead of time for weddings or parties.

About half RR is left but I'm doing lots of cooking today, lemon cake, caramel shortcake, more RR probably for the weekend

Well done Lexi and happy birthday Erin

Charlie says lots of words now but my favourites at the moment have to be horrendous, pizza, beer, whisky, vodka, barcardi (my mum's fault-charlie was aking what the bottles were on the pub and she told him), cookies, he used to say gunder for dinner but doesn't anymore...

  • Oh a question I have been meaning to ask, should it be in bold?

Any tips on brushing babies teeth? Lexi is now at a point where she wants to do it and Im really struggling to do it without causing a big scene, which I dont want to do as I dont want it to become a 'thing'

    Happy Birthday, Erin!

    Well done Lexi! :T

Glam - did Jack sleep better? I tried that trick to see if it's why Finn was having issue (our bedroom gets so cold at night) but it didn't help us :(. Last night was another fun one - I really wish this kid would outgrow his current phase! It's doing my head in.

still catching up, as was busy most of the day yesterday and then we had a power cut in the evening when I meant to come on & chat!

SS - poo on your poohead doctor. Also, where in the US is the job? I'm very intrigued - how does hubby feel about poss going back home?

anyone seen Fitzio or Beenie lately? hmmmm...there was someone else MIA but now I can't remember!

and every other thing I meant to reply to yesterday has now seaped out of my brain...

No but presumably it is about the fact that it is common to lose weight initially but that is not shown on the charts? (My HV was astonished when she weighed Alice at ten days thta she had gained 6oz.)

IIRC Jack put on 8oz at ten days and they were gobsmacked!

    Happy 1st Birthday Erin :j

Well................................. Jack slept til 5am :j:j
Feel guilty now though cos he was obviosuly cold and I didn't realise :o

The job's in Pennsylvania, so we'd be a bit suburban/small townish but close enough to Philadelphia and NYC that it wouldn't be too much of a hardship. OH is not sold on the idea of living in the US but knew that marrying an academic would make moves mostly inevitable. It's tenure track, too, so ideal if I could get it. Odds a little against me though but we'll see.

Glam, I'm so pleased Jack slept better! No need to feel guilty, you didn't know.

    Happy birthday Erin! :D

:T Lexi and Toby, and :grouphug: for Christopher and SS :o

Now that Rhys has been up for an hour (woken up by a delivery man who brought new smaller jeans, woohoo! :D), it's apparent his cold is well and truly back :( He's sneezing lots, got snot all over his face (he's still tired and keeps rubbing his face again every time I clean him up!), eyes are streaming, sounds raspy/rumbly and has a hacking cough :( (wasn't like this at 8am!)

ETA: Ick.. teaching him to kiss my cheek was a bad idea - just got snotted/slobbered on, big stylee! _pale_

SS - The world is fat mad. So bad now people fret that babies are too fat! Tell your OH that babies are SUPPOSED to have fat!

Keira was a right chubby thing, once she started moving it just melts off.

She also had a tummy over the top of her nappy and fat leg rolls, lol, looked like someone had strung her legs up like a bit of beef,

Can't even put Keira to nursery today because Tesco can't give me a bloody time when they will show up, and that's IF they show up. How incompetient! I wish they'd tell me straight cause then I'd try and get my dad to take me shopping.

I have NO pull ups, NO cat food, NO meat, NO bread, NO milk.

I should demand money off my bill for them messing me around like mad!

TBH, I'd be the same (my DH has made it obvious he would love to move to the USA, but I do not want to go back), but would be fantastic if you got a tenure-track job though! I have a couple friends from PA but not really been there myself :p.

Glam, poo now I'm jealous! Maybe will persevere with making it warmer - we swaddle him already in a fleece blanket plus a thick sheet over top, so the only thing left is a hat and possibly another blanket! garrrrrrr...

I let Izzy have a go by herself while I brush my teeth, then I let her hold my toothbrush (and have ago at my teeth!) while I do hers.

The last few days she has been much more interested in opening the cupboard above the sink and taking everything out of it and I've been able to do her teeth while she is distracted, but that is probably not such a helpful suggestion ;)
