ladybirdintheuk wrote: »Beccles I keep meaning to ask who you work for (if you are allowed to say) ... do you work for a particular store, and go check prices in competitors, or is it somewhere that does comparisons?
I work for different field marketing agencies so the work varies a lot depending on what I pick up.
The ones today are part of an ongoing project where a particular store wants information on what it's competitors are up to. I can't name stores though - sorry. Now I'm studying business strategy I can understand why they want the information!
Also do mystery shopping which is going in and reporting back on service and stuff in store as a customer. Auditing - sign in as a visitor and collect data on displays, stock and stuff like that. Merchandising - sign in as a visitor and try and get as much of the product on sale, sometimes involves building secondary displays like putting up those cardboard stands you see or putting up posters or stickers on the shelf edge to encourage people to buy. It's hard work and not that well paid sometimes, but I love it, can pick and choose what I want to do and it's so flexible which is brilliant with the bairns and uni. Here I go again on my own....0 -
MadDogWoman wrote: »The Baptism families in my church are asked to be at the church for 11.15 for the service to begin at 11.45, they are given tea/coffee and biscuits whilst they wait.
The minister split the service in 2 so the older members of the congregation get a traditional service and then can leave, then the Baptism service can be a bit more contemporary.Jakesmummy wrote: »it took about 30 mins but i was mega rushing cos we had to be at church at 10.15 as well! i was hoping someone would offer to do it for me but they didnt lol! is there anyone you could ask to do it for you, it was a hassle getting everything ready and getting to church on time!
Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the helium at Asda, and how many balloons it did?
AF - yay to your folks coming over :j0 -
Caitlin's 8 month check went well yesterday. It was the HV that has been horrible in the past but she was really lovely yesterday <confused smiley>. She passed all the tests except waving bye-bye (MFD, they didn't test/ask if she could point). They tested things like picking up one block, then another block then tapping them together, then whether she could pick up a raisin. They also asked about her "speech" and whether she could stand up yet.
The HV did her weight, length and head circumference. She weighs 16lb 12oz now, so is still pretty much following the 25th percentile. She's been following that since she was about 6 wks old.
She's 70cm long, which puts her on the 75th percentile for length. She was between the 25th and 50th the last two times she was measured (at 12 days old and 6 weeks old).
Then, the funniest one is her head circumference. She was on the 9th percentile when she was 12 days and 6 weeks old (34cm and 36cm). Yesterday, it was 42cm, so she's dropped to between the 0.4th and 2nd percentile. They measured her three times yesterday just to check it was right, as it is so little!!
We have to go for a follow-up to the Drs, but the earliest they could fit us in is the 15th March, then we don't see the HV again until C is 2.5 years old, unless we've got any questions or issues beforehand.
Off to Buggy Fit again today...lovely miserable weather! I need to go to B&Q first for a couple of bits too. I've got a KIT day tomorrow, so need to get some jobs done round the housre this afternoon.
Have a good day all.

My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »3 - what a nightmare!! At least they seem to be trying to sort J out...
Can I ask if you have such big problems with him on a day to day basis?
He's a good boy for his Mum, it's just other people he doesn't like.(And he's a fan of young ladies with big boobies
).
I think the problem with the taxi driver and escort on the first day is that like a lot of people, because J doesn't speak, they assume he doesn't understand either. I don't think it occured to them to say 'J, get on your seat and put your seatbelt on' - it works for me.searching_me wrote: »tia i love the gokking .. i need a new wardrobe so .. gok say i have a figure like jennifer lopez .. a perfect pear (small waist WIDE hips) .. although the girls who met me doyou think i am? not that you notice or anything :rotfl: ...
I noticed, and have already told you, you have a tiny ickle waist! Like child sized!
Apparently i'm a classic cone like Cameron Diaz and Naomi Campbell - Yeah right!
AF Yey for your parents visiting. How long are they staying for?
Dora Hope you feel better.
Becles That sounds interesting. Do you get enough work?
I do a little bit of mystery shopping, but only through one company. Nothing interesting although I did get a wash, cut and blow yesterday at an expensive salon where I wouldn't normally go. And last week I got a cheese & onion pasty and a ring donut! Not really enough to earn a living though.

Whoever took him, please can I have my sleeping son back?
He was asleep on OH (who was sat in his huge comfy computer chair, wide awake I hasten to add) 10.30pm-2am until OH decided to go to bed and it was the move to his crib that did it, I think (or it woke him up enough for him to remember he has a snotty nose anyway). He normally goes back to sleep within ten minutes of the move and is never any trouble, but last night he just roared and roared
OH took him away in the end - I thought they were only walking the hallway but apparently they were up until 4am (by which time I was well asleep
) and Rhys was awake again before 8am and only quiet again after a bottle *confused* Bring back my ten hour straight sleeping baby!
Now I'm going to sit here and drink tea until it comes out of my ears, and might go to clinic later depending what time Rhys wakes up again. We're going to a soft play centre later with friends too.0 -
