MFD, when you said Benjamin was high up on the centile, has he always been?

she said he had previously been on 25th IIRC

Yup - Sami is right again (where is that rolleyes smiley!)

He was born just under the 75th and tracked up nicely for a while. Then he dropped to near the 25th.

He then started to gain again, which the HV was very pleased with....too pleased in my opinion at the time because he was going up the centiles and I saw it coming that if he continued to gain at that rate then at some point I would be hearing that I have an obese baby!

I am not arsed really! I will reduce his milk but that is all part of my master plan to stick the kid on moo milk out of a sippy cup as soon as I can
Edit: Sippy cup only holds 190ml ;)

To be fair, HV said she wasn't bothered but said it may be worth thinking about...my HV is pretty good most of the time.

Also - he hovers between the 75th and the 91st for height so that makes him in proportion
(we get extra height checks when we go to the hospital)

Actually - has anybody ever read the paper that is referenced in your red book?
'Postnatal wright loss in term infants: what is normal and do growth charts allow for it'.

Was curious, a friend of mine (sort of) visited today and she said he's gone over the 100th, so at what point does a HV think that they have gone too far, or is there ever too far in a baby??? Surely once active they can come down again?
dunno to be honest, I think in B's case he dropped a bit then went up but I could have made that up! :s
*edit I was right, yey :D*
I often hear that HVs worry if baby crosses 2 lines.
Mine always told me that it didn't matter where they were as long as they stayed around that bit (which is mostly true but also lots of perfectly normal babies gain in an unusual way)
Sami, have you ever noticed that your big spends always happen when hubby is away with work ??
not at all  he can't stop me when he's not here and I say well what would he rather, I fill the void with shopping or another man ;) (joke!!)

Maddy dropped right down, but I wasn't bothered as she was still in proportion with lovely tubby legs etc. This little boy was so chunky he couldn't even roll comfortably, and I gave Maddy lunch and she got out 2 yogurts and fed him, she also said he only really eats food now, no milk. He was born May 23rd. Just being nosey, something didn't ring true about some of what she was saying?

    Anyway, night, gotta go! XXX
